looks great! I'm going to brine a roast this weekend, then next weekend that goes in the smoker for venison pastrami along with some sausages.

I get casings from syracuse casings- the local price chopper carries them. Spices i get at an amish store or herehttps://www.waltonsinc.com/seasonings/sausage-seasonings . Also the meatgistics on the waltons site can be a big help for info.

I saw a meateater show where he was hunting sitka deer in Maryland. Seemed like an interesting hunt

Deleted - See its ATV. Im with Moog if you can get pressure treated in there thats the way to go. Lot of work to do otherwise that prob wont last. Dont want to block the water cause it will just either move, wear away or go around if you just drop trees and rocks etc, so that means over it and straight cut stuff is gonna be a lot easier

i have an electric masterbuilt. Had a charcoal one and its a PITA compared to the electric. Chips last a long time and consistent temps, works great

I always wanted to try to catch every freshwater gamefish in NY in one calendar year. Thought it would be a good challenge. Toughest would be a true musky I was thinking. Someday ...... will do all the common ones in NY - Pickerel, Walleye, Largemouth bass, Smallmouth bass, King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Lake, Brown, rainbow, Brook trout, Northern Pike, Musky, Tiger musky. I need to retire i have things to do.

This is probably true. So many of them around. Gut shots are the worst. Cause you have to wait and it's an easy track and smell for yotes to pickup.
-
I am in for January
-
She blew at you? This would make me think a miss. And if she stood around there for 20 minutes and you couldn't see blood on her. But I have gut shot one before and it just walked away slowly. Also the biggest buck I ever got hit it with Xbow and it slowly walked away and went down in 50 yards. If no yotes i would wait til daylight , if yotes are an issue there I prob look tonight at least for sign.

Already prepping for next season. Cut some brush in a couple spots. This spot mostly , plan is to plant this as a kill plot next year so had to cut back some brush to be able to shoot into it. Small spot like 25x30 yards. And we have a stand tucked into some pines next to it. Was good to be out and do some work. -

My dad got me a red Ryder and said don't tell your mother, we will keep it at camp. Had it for a couple years then my Dad tells me my Mom said she was thinking of getting me a BB gun for Xmas and he said oh I already got him one. So he had to take the one I've had for two years and wrap it. Lol. And tells me to act surprised. Then he bought me a BB pistol with CO2 which was a big upgrade and we hid that for a couple years. Til we went to a .22, etc.... Dad was awesome. -
Except it's a volunteer Dept. Good folks to do all that for free. I am sure to donate to them every year.

Great gift idea

Happens on Oneida every single year multiple times. See guys taking boards out to get farther out on the ice. Sylvan beach has a dive team, ice training and a hovercraft it happens so often. I've said they should charge them $1000 for every rescue putting so many others at risk. A couple of guys around the lake make good money pulling out sleds every year.
