  1. Has it been started before? Might be something that they put on it for transit or it's in transport mode for shipping.
  2. Ive made a pinwheeled rolled neck roast like that before that came out really good. I saved a heart to try something different like this. Thanks. Might do that or was thinking marinading then stuffing with portbellas and put in the smoker.
  3. Looks great. Been wanting to try stuffing a heart and see how it comes out, was going to try with this. Is the heart the wrong texture?
  4. @G-Man should freelance for this.
  5. Def scaled down for family this year . But Ham, scalloped potatoes, vege, cranberry pretzel salad, pie for desert. Tray of cookies from Mom to take home. Usually add in another casserole, Oreo cookie cake, dips and cheeses etc, but most of the family isn't coming. My mom is in her 80s and some of the family have jobs they are exposed to lot of people, teacher, police officer, HR director etc. So they won't be coming.
  6. Asiago cheese and roasted pepper sausage , mushroom and Swiss omelette. Feels weird to be off and not hunting anymore. Guess I will wrap presents and prep some food.
  7. Good season Fletch and good luck on the new dirt. I will keep my eye out for you too if I come across something that might interest you that I can't swing or is closer to your area.
  8. Makes me sick. Glad he vetoed it. $600 to buy off the American people for a bill that is 5600 pages long and should be 56 pages. Billions of dollars of pork and foreign aid. Govt printing money they don't have and buy us off with $600, to shut us up. Both parties should be ashamed to even present this. I am not a Trump guy but I will miss the things like this that he does. He is damn right - if they want to spend that amount of money then give it to the American people that are struggling and have paid for it, why are we sending money to Cambodia and Guatemala.... I've said for 20 years there should be a law that each piece of legislation must pass on it's OWN merit and NO other legislation can be attached to it. This would end a lot of the backroom deals when they have to present their pet projects for approval on it's own and not buried on page 3400 of a bill no one has read.
  9. That's just awesome. Great idea and thought behind it.
  10. No update from the lone hunter on the forum. I'm assumptin Crappy got another one!
  11. I've been a couple times hunting them never cared too much for it either. Our rabbit and turkey numbers did seem to go up. Plus our chances of leaving a deer for a bit might be helped out. A couple years ago I shot a doe before dark. Came back in the morn to find it and not a bite left and the head was even gone.
  12. Definitely. Maybe the best meal I've ever had was a bowl of venison stew my dad made over a wood stove with wild mushrooms he picked in it. He couldn't get out and hunt anymore so stayed at the camp and cooked etc. Also made biscuits on that same stove. ( we had a gas stove there but he wanted to make it old school). My brother and I walked for miles hunting all day and came back to that and a cold bud longneck. It was 30 years ago and I still remember it.
  13. Some large yotes there. Ever see them in daylight? We've shot a couple in deer season and the neighbors have started trapping them. Numbers have seemed to go down this year. Less pics than we did for.a.couple years. I've tried hunting them a couple times after deer season but no luck. I have a real knack of calling them in during turkey season though.
  14. we shoot the same arrows! Hoping next year they extend season as they are pushing for and can still be hunting this time of year too. So yes jealous hate here but wishing you good luck!
  15. gonna have to agree to disagree on this one my friend. If my Dad were still around he would be over to your house with steaks and beers in hand. lol. He was a chef (i am certainly not). He used to get asked to come into kitchens all the time when we would be out to eat to show them how to prepare something- it was pretty cool and he loved it. But never touch his cast irons! Steaks are good that way on the grill but cant crust them as well as a nice pan sear. IMHO
  16. Wings are also good in an air fryer but if you deep fry them they are better. Steaks are good on the grill but give me a hot cast iron and i will make a better one. When steaks come out at of a prime steakhouse they never saw a grill.
  17. ive gotten away from grilling quite a bit. Esp with Venison, it just seems to dry it out too much. Grilling is close to the equivalent of air frying - come at me! lol
  18. Thoughts and Prayers out to your wife and family. You all have had a very tough year and i sure hope to hear by the end of it everyone is home together and on the mend.
  19. Cast iron pan heated up with salted real butter and a little crushed garlic. Once pan is hot but not burning butter, sear on each side for a couple minutes while spooning butter and garlic over it, leave it fairly rare and enjoy.
  20. I guess the score for me would be : 120 keeper walleyes give/take 120 panfish give/take a couple trout 2 does 1 buck, 6 point. = Full freezer and a good season.
  21. i had to take my truck in for a recall on the adapter that holds the rearview camera in. Yeah i havent had a chance to clean all the deer blood out off the bed and tailgate yet. Havent gotten a visit from the FBI so far ...
