  1. Thats kinda what I was thinking. It seems like the last plan being exactly 10 years ago from 2021 and getting public comment done by end of this year, then have to print all the new regs and make the public aware they need 6 months to do all that. So a decison would come soon.
  2. Hey @Biz-R-OWorld no acacemy 1000 inch score this season? 2 buck larry dropped prob 1/4 of it himself, Jay with his biggest buck, Andrew with a nice ridge runner, Tacks shot Buckle...... gotta be close!
  3. so tomorrow? lol Was wondering if maybe by March/April? They cert have to decide prior to July. Licenses go on sale first week in August.
  4. Anyone have any idea when we might find out if this all is a go?
  5. Go with gross! I unofficially scored my buck from 2018 and it was a Gross of 127.5. and net was like 100. Lol. I'll be damned if I say it's 100! And you know 150 is way easier to remember than 147 2/8, 1/4, 4/16, whatever that was. Just sayin...
  6. have them contact the Dept of health for the county. I had my Mom call and they took her info to notify her when she is in the eligible group for the vaccine. Right now its first responders, Hospital staff, funeral home workers, front line staff at group homes and nursing/elderly homes, for the most part. They should be up for it soon!
  7. they had some throw and grow i am going to try frost seeding in some of the existing trails and see if it takes. New to planting for this year for food plots. We are going to til a spot or two and will put in some mixes there for small kill plots. But have a couple trails that grow some grasses and going to try throwing in some clover mixes on it. Like this one
  8. was just there less than 10 minutes ago, and i bought some food plot mixes on clearance for next season. But didnt see any winter wheat or rye
  9. Happy Birthday and congrats on a great hunting season for you. Deer and turkeys!
  10. exactly , thats why i listened to the experts and got the vaccine. And if Bill Gates needs to know i go to work and home everyday then to the lake or hunting on the weekends i guess he must be pretty bored. lol
  11. Sorry to hear. But I will be the one to say it. I'm a Ginger guy I like them difficult.
  12. Got my Vaccination today . All good. Know a bunch of people that have gotten it not a single issue.
  13. got an alert email from Buds gun shop today they have 30/30 hornady ammo again. More expensive but i did get 2 boxes to restock. Just need some 12 g Hornady SST 300 grain and i am set again.
  14. i fumble in my pocket, then drop it in the snow, get another, load the pellets, drop the sabot in the snow, wipe it off, push it down with the rod, fumble for the primer cause my hands are frozen and its small and i cant hold it, drop that, get another, $%@%# glasses are fogged, close the gun, realize i lost sight of the deer and go back and get my gloves on the ground later. Its a system.
  15. if this passes it will change how I hunt during the season, anyone else? If they pass the early Sept season I have a spot in 7J (which will def be on the list as they cant give out enough permits, always leftovers) I rarely get to hunt now cause in Oct they put cows out in the field to feed. Early Sept season I will be there a bunch and try to get an early freezer doe which frees me up more for hunting bucks and less early season Oct hunting before the rut. (at least thats the plan) . Which i thought at first i wouldnt like a sept season but it might give me some oppurtunity in a spot I really like that is heavy with does. Losing my best spot for next year i would be holding myself back some not to burn out my other spot early. Also a stand we were looking to put up will be easier as a 9ft to get a shot with a xbow than the compound without getting busted. (not a debate on xbow vs compound - I love them both just IMHO xbow easier to get away with less movement in tight quarters) I also might use a small groundblind more as i dont have to draw a bow in it, just shoot the xbow and honestly my compound will prob become a back up or more of an occasional use.
  16. looks like he wore the fuzzy white pup out.
  17. Sorry to hear of your familys loss. Good for you with being ready before you go. The certificate for completing the course you can just file it away in case you ever need it but your info will now be in the system for licences. The yellow tags are the licenses and you will need to get new ones every year. Those are to be carried with you and the back tag should be worn and visible. You can get a back tag holder and it can go on the back of your hunting jacket and i always put all my harvest tags in with it. Once you take an animal you must fill out and attach the tag to it. There is a part that has what you are licensed for and I usually carry that in my wallet - it should have hunting and/or fishing etc on it . This can be shown if asked by law enforcement. and it is certainly worth hunting still if season is open in your area. Just for the scouting info alone for next year is worth the time. You can tell a lot this time of year about the season. Look for welll used deer trails and rubs. Plus you can get some of the bugs out of your plan for next year now and most of hunting is getting out in the quiet and enjoying the time in the woods. And maybe if just going a couple of times try just hunting from the ground and doing more scouting and learning the first time or two, unless you have an area and tree picked out for the stand already. Dunno what kind of vehicle you have but if you put a hitch on a car there are carriers you can buy that go right into the hitch and you wouldnt need a trailer. Best of luck and welcome to hunting !
  18. Yes. Just thaw in fridge, don't leave it out.
  19. For breakfast sausage I just buy ground pork and mix it 50/50 with venison add in spices and then make patties. It gives it that sausage texture. But can certainly add in chunks of venison and pork/pork fat and grind. Just make sure it is cold. If it gets warm it doesn't grind well and also doesn't form together as well. I've only made snack sticks a couple of times and summer sausage once. And I went 80/20 venison to pork.
