Can't shoot til officially daylight in NY

I like to be in my stand by first light which is usually 1/2 hour before sunrise.

I take whatever comes first. But have to say when i first started hunting any noise i would react. Now that I've done a lot of hunting can generally tell if a noise is a deer walking or just some small game moving around.

Me and FISHDO will be out in am for some xbow. Got a feeling someone is sending one tomorrow.

I'm giving this a go next week. Although I won't go to far in cause well I don't want to die. Going up to a huge stateland area in Lewis co in hunted years ago. Take a little still hunt and see if a bear or buck is about . Prob not a chance in hell but it's more of an old time day when I used to hunt up there 30;years ago. And big woods hunting is one thing to say. But without any pre scouting it's pretty tough. I've been in the Dacks and try a new area and walk in and find a 200 ft rock gully that you can't cross more than once. I won't go too far from truck and area I know I can get back. My woods skills are ok but not just walking about without knowing how to get back. I am gonna park at end of a don't road where a small trout stream is and a nice ridgeline. Can see a long way there on the back side of a pond. Will still hunt that for a couple hours and see what I see.

i add in bacon to my ground for some added fat. 2 lbs of bacon into 10 #'s of venison works well for burgers.

been making an apple breakfast sausage with venison and it has become my favorite. Spices from the amish and then add in some applesauce or cider. I do like the constanzas products a lot. But i have a hangup that most of their mixes are more pork than venison. I want venison sausage not sausage with venison. Lol. They do like a 40/60, I do a 60/40 or at least a 50/50. Dont get me wrong their stuff tastes great and is s great product. Its just mostly in my mind. My hunting buddy gets mad when someone tells him "this stuff is great, doesnt even taste like venison" he says then what the hell am i hunting for - I want it to taste like venison! lol

on hunting days this is my meal for the day. In the morn I dont really eat anything , just a cup of coffee. Then after the morning hunt i have a good breakfast and then by the time i get done with the afternoon hunt its usually getting late anyway. Breakfast is my favorite meal so it works out!

i have a cooler I can get a whole quartered deer into. But i would take to processor probably and his walk in cooler. But if recovered after they close the cooler would be the option overnight.

Daylight big buck under our scrape dripper. I was hunting for a doe about 500 yards away. My buddy hunted this the next morn and pulled cams and shouldve been there yesterday afternoon.......damn it! he was close.

The hole will produce sooner or later! I know the feeling from last season. I actually had to buy ground beef and chicken.
