LIVE From The Woods 2020 - Let's hear stories and see some pictures!

Saw 5 ticks today. Most I've ever seen all of them were on the back of my hands while sitting in the stand. After that feeling like I needed to itch and scratch .....and weirded out. Would be sitting there and then feel one across my hand. Sure did a good tick check and showered after am and pm hunt. Hate the damn things. But glad to only see them on my hands. -

Thanks. That's awesome!!!! I usually have a backup plan. If I can't hang it, I will skin and quarter it that night and I have a huge cooler that fits a whole deer and 3-4 blocks of ice. Also can always take it to Marsh mill for processing if they are still open that day. A walk in cooler is a sweet thing to have. I have a fridge I can get to put in the shed but for use maybe once a year I just didn't put it in. Like Fletch says, I will kill em and figure it out later. Good problem to have. Lol. -

Forgot to add in tried some light rattling this morn and not a peep. -
Right. How can ya best that? Corey and I were talking about this the other day. Can't have it much better than the area we are in. We can hunt and usually have some action in a season with 5-7 deer tags each a bear tag, turkey tags, fishing is great, we ain't got it too bad. Just need to retire to have more time to include some duck and goose, small game hunting and more Adirondack trips. More good things to do than I can find time for. Haven't even made it over for the shore walleye bite yet and I live 400 damn yards away.

People don't realize how good they have it now. Always want to change things to suit themselves only. Right now we can hunt in NY for 3 months with a bow, xbow, gun and muzzleloader, can take two bucks and most get a doe permit or two. There are opportunities for us all and implements we all can use. I wouldn't change a thing. I love how the seasons are setup and I hunt with all of them cause I like to and can. Hunt however you like but don't take opportunities away from others. Let's hunt!

Headed out. Good luck folks. Gotta get out in between rain outs. -
I remember being at restaurants as a kid and people would come out of the kitchen to ask my Dad how to cook something. Sometimes he would be off with them to the kitchen to show them. He loved it. Lol. One of my favorite saying from him about venison Jerky "how can you take a piece of beautiful meat like that and make something you can stick in your pocket??".
-
I do like to make a pan sauce sometimes with a little cranberry sauce and red wine, butter for venison straps. But usually just some spices and butter basted in the pan.
-
Lol. I thought that too. My Dad who was a chef used to go off the deep end when one of my cousins used ketchup on a steak. Reminded me of that.
-
Congrats Grampy on landing that. Good deeds come back to you and you are sure deserving of that. It's always exciting to have new dirt to figure out, one of the best things of hunting. Good luck and enjoy!

sitting here tomorrow - hoping to see this happen by this scrapetree/licking branch -
should be able to have both. Again i would vote for Trump wayyyy before Biden but it shameful the way he acts and that we cant do better and he cant see it for himself. I tire of eating shitcakes every election and have to be told its good for you. I guess if you have to eat shit its best not to nibble so i understand why someone is all in on Trump. I am just sick of both parties and how they are doing things.

i bought one of those this season cause they had a marsh camo i wanted. Nice blind. Big enough inside for a camera crew!
