3 beaches on Oneida lake closed for swimming for most or all of the summer cause they couldnt get lifeguards. I remember when i was a kid you had to know someone to get those jobs thsy were in such demand. -
i think Elk rut earlier. I seem to remember the rut is usually Sept. So should be hard horned by then

they opened up an early archery season this year in Sept - now that would be the best. Before deer here! then they have diffferent weeks for gun in Nov and a late season antlerless in Jan i believe - which woudl also be great .

i am so looking forward to bow season here - cant imagine throwing in an elk tag to boot. My weekends would suddenly all be in PA for scouting!

I always check the list thats posted after - usually put on the elk expo site. But i think they email and send by mail .

When we were putting up this stand i was out in the cut grass area and i tell my buddy in the stand "how does it look if your standing up?" he says - "I am standing up!" lol. Perfect ! nail it. Hate ground blinds cant see anything! or hear as well.

Height is an advantage only if enough cover . But 17ft and wide open vs 10ft and tucked in is a no brainer. Lots of people use ground blinds and no stands at all. we actually dropped one of our stands last year cause at 17ft you stuck out like a boner in sweatpants. at 10ft have deer walk within 5 yards of me.

I often use the self checkout at walmart when i have a few things. Well today i had produce that had to be weighed, which is pita, so i went to the regular checkout. Bought some groceries etc and also two boxes of worms. Checkout gal.."oh i hate ringing these up cause i know they are just gonna die" me- deep breath Checkout gal - "you know what i mean?" me - "not really" lol Next time i will just weigh the damn bananas! lol . Which she wasnt worried about them dying at all.

My Dad lived to 61 and his Dad lived to 61......hmmmm Fat full and pushing 50! Just had my physical last week and no issues. I take NO meds at all and i am never sick - have 450 hours of sick time only because they max you out there. I will be the guy that just drops one day out of the blue. lol.

gets so as i get older I understand the world less and less. In ten years will be surprised if there is school at all. Internet classrooms will be the thing for many reasons including this. Sad for sure. I dont have kids just wasnt in the cards for me, but I can only imagine what it must feel like to think you need to get your child a bullet proof backpack.
