  1. Marinated some venison stew meat in teriyaki and cooked up with onions and shrooms. Some.buttery rice as a side.
  2. Is it put up like a tent with the connecting rods? I think you can get those online and maybe just put an extra couple in there
  3. I had a bond arms ranger. Kinda wish i kept it sometimes. Neat little gun but i didnt like the grip and the edge of hammer would hurt my hand when i shot it. Had one in .410/45
  4. cant tell you how many times ive been asked- is it like being on the road do you keep right? Or what are those Buoys for? Whats the red cord on the boat keys? Yeah prob a good idea and it cant hurt at least .
  5. if he kills a nice buck from the stand this season he can quote Quigley!
  6. isnt this a first for Biz though.... hunting in a stand? he was always #fromtheground!
  7. Def agree with you and Gman. Let the area dictate how high. Although i wont go over 18ft. But i put in a stand last weekend at 9ft cause otherwise it would stick out and put in a groundblind this weekend because the area i wanted to be in has all low cover . The best spots to tuck in and be unseen are the way to go.
  8. Congrats to you and the Misses!!!
  9. One at 20, one at 40. Dialed in.
  10. Thanks! Was a perfect weekend for working on this stuff. Nice and cool and breezy. Was work but also fun.
  11. Owner cut all of lease trails yesterday! He has a big tractor and brush hog and makes short work of a LOT of cutting. Getting pumped now. Took a walk around it and moved a cam after getting the blind done. All that is left is move one stand there and lease is ready. Second pic is one of my favorite stands. 30 yards from a licking branch/ scrapetree.
  12. Put in a ground blind today on lease. Though I hate ground blinds. But this spot has no trees and is right by where we park. Get busted there walking out in evenings all the time. Hopefully a good early doe ambush spot. Seen some huge one's there. It is tucked in for sure.
  13. There are a few islands open for public use dunno if that's one of them.. We used to camp at Jaques Cartier park all the time and fish out by American island. There was an island (that i don't remember the name of) behind it you could dock your boat and it was right on the shipping lane. We would go there and make steamed clams and corn and dogs etc on the grill. Hang out there for the day and watch the ships go by. Was always a great day.
  14. Was afraid to look but I did ....
  15. Decided I was gonna save it for opening day of gun season breakfast. My two hunting buddies come over every year it's a tradition and thought that would be perfect with a stack of cakes.
  16. Venison steak and eggs and hash browns. Then out to clean rest of tree mess of my front lawn before Biz drives by and sees it...
  17. Used to always be at hunting camp when I was a kid. Have it at my house now with a couple of buddies. Kind of a tradition now. And always look forward to it. Old hunting stories over coffee before the gun opener is just the way it should be. Also the best part of gun season. Bow is usually a much more solo endeavor and have had a full month and a half of it and the change to gun for opening day is something to look forward to. Im actually not as into gun season unless I have others with me.
  18. I gun hunt more often with someone. End of season we tend to do some pushes with a couple of us. Prob bow hunt alone 3/4 of the time. I share a lease with a guy and we do hunt together when we can. But work schedules don't always match up and we both have other spots to hunt too . I def like to hunt with a buddy though. We text a lot when we are hunting at the same time too. Cause even though we are hunting the same place we aren't together but on different spots on the property. But it's fun to get together to plan out hunts and talk about the hunt after. Always have a breakfast on opening day of gun with some buddies too.
  19. Did some serious deer season prep today. On lease we put new straps on each stand (9) and cleaned up shooting lanes and entry trails on all regular stands and cleaned up area where I put a new stand. Land owner was out with the tractor and brush hog and got him to cut a couple extra areas for us while he was doing the trails. We have one stand to move and setup and the lease is ready for season. Then shot the bow and got the pins back to dialed in after adjusting nock location. Arrows touching at 40 is a good sign. Gotta shoot again to be sure. Then it's just a couple of make it count shots each week til season. Move the one stand at lease, move one stand that I have at spot in 7J, then change out straps on 3 stands in 6S and ready to go. Checked cam on lease that was only out for a week and a few doe pics. Def a productive day.
  20. Also the cheat code for Mike Tyson's punch out if I recall....
  21. Mushroom, spinach and swiss omelette with sage venison sausage. And Charlie's fried egg over kibble
