Herbs is in bad shape right now. They claimed bankruptcy but are still open - but the one in Oneida is downsizing, heard they closed the Dewitt store and they have hardly any inventory right now. Hope they turn it around - always liked this store and there is one 2 minutes from my office. And some good folks work there as well

has a good selection of guns there - rifles and pistols. Lots of fishing gear. The hunting clothing seems a bit high price - but found guns and xbow ofter $100 cheaper than bass pro - (looked at a ruger 06 - $449 bass pro - $359 at runnings). They have a whole aisle of sodas that you can buy in singles which is kinda neat for kids - all different kinds -the kids can keep up with you on micro brew selections! Also sell TSC type of farm stuff. Ive bought a rifle and my xbow there. They have a good stock of ammo as well. Lots of pet stuff. Just like goosifer said a mix of those three. I go to bass pro a lot of times for some fishing tackle or to look/handle stuff as they have a big selection but then end up getting it at runnings or online for cheaper.

i was thinking that too. Theres a big crow one in elmira (if i recall) too that had a lot of protesters for the last several years.

love the idea of the sportsman show weekend. They put on a pretty good show and its about the off season for hunting or fishing for anything.

Ive played Khaluyut and Shenandoa both are beautiful for sure. They also have a little par 3 also that you only need irons for. Nice course but difficult if you are off at all , the ball is gone. But its only like $25. And they have another regular 9 hole course like 2 minutes away that isnt bad either. I used to always play a nine hole course in Durhamville a lot that is 5 minutes away. I worked there for three years part time driving bus and limo on occasion. - like 10 years ago.

yeah same here - ive golfed once in three years. They have cheaper courses too. But Aduyote last i knew was like $250 a round. Absolutley beautiful place but way above my pay grade. And they do have drink girls on carts that come around but they arent in bikinis.....

been told by a couple of guys - want to have fun on a horseback hunt - shoot the horse then go hunting. But have also heard some people really loved it.

All cleaned up and ready for another round of snow tonite and its looks like this weekend. We have cert gotten a foot + storms before but not with 50 MPH winds and the lake completely frozen over. Would be under a stoplight and not even see it. Worst i have seen in a long time. There is a traffic circle on 13 before the beach and they closed it cause you couldnt see to go around it. March usually gives us a big one - its ok with me if this year could be skipped. Not sure that winter weather is any worse than it is every year but i am sure i am getting older and dont deal with it as well. On Monday we did a one hour delay then into a close, Tuesday a one hour delay again .... hope thats it for the week!

Vernon national used to have a 3d bow course and archery shop. They might even do a 3D archery event as well. Which might be more up peoples alley. Buddy of mine is electee for local gun club too. They might open up for a turkey shoot or something. Just some thoughts to put out there.

if you have an extra $10,000 can do a deer hunt there for a 200 inch whitetail. They have high fence hunts , hell the deer might even have come from FSW.

I'm in as long as dates work. Turning stone is 10 min from my house. I will be there on July 19 for a Reba concert with the GF ( we hope, tickets go on sale this fri) Let me know if any groundwork needed I am prob the closest. I thought about this before as location is dead center in the state. Just so many guys on here are from wny and downstate. But they have great golf courses and Vernon national is 10 minutes away with skeet shooting if anyone is interested, they do groups etc.

still wish that NE zone went longer on the back end. Dec 8th is like the end of muzzle and would love a longer season to duck hunt after deer like the rest of the regions. Where i hunt deer is wetlands and would love duck hunting after deer season.

thats awesome! Had to be a good time squirrels or not. Although after a night like that was expecting a little more walking dead in this pic! Those bushtails saw you coming and buried in deep! And i guess we found out a "westchester Squirrel hunt" is really a westchester squirrel hunt - I had my doubts...... thought it had to be noon time buffet and strippers. But there ya go!
