  1. Nice pic........(big sigh). I miss leaves....
  2. My feeling is once it gets to a teacher with a handgun it's too late. The threat must be stopped at the door. And we need to figure out whatever it takes to do that.
  3. Of course but dunno how you wpuldnt agree that the chances of trained law enforcement backing down or screwing up - versus a teacher with a permit is prob more likely. I am sure there are capable teachers out there. But I would feel more comfortable with a trained officer. This one guy is an anomaly.
  4. Dont think that this would be the norm and am sure the teachers would be more apt to respond that way. Plus they didnt have the secure entrance with 2 guards. But yeah how could this fellow not respond?? its terrible. Just makes this story more and more disheartening ......
  5. https://nypost.com/2018/02/22/cuomo-announces-coalition-with-other-states-to-fight-for-tough-gun-laws/
  6. nice buck. I would be proud to have it on my wall. The singing fish...... not so much! lol When those first came out I got 4 of them for christmas. the wife loved it when you would leave all of them on at the same time....we had to catch and release them. lol
  7. Your boyfriend Andy - started a coalition of states with Jersey and Conn to look at gun laws and security. He is pushing for "smart" guns that only work with a fingerprint reader......what? . Exactly . Sounds like the art of the deal......push for that but since the technology isnt easily easily available - so lets start this ...."insert gun legislation here" Sounds like the safe act part deux - "we are coming for your AR's" .
  8. we shouldnt have to arm teachers - shouldnt be a reason for it. They are teachers not trained security. There needs to be protection of a real option at the school. Social security offices, hospitals etc have a guarded entrance the schools should be the same. Have a door after the main door that is locked and each person must pass by security and a metal detector. They have it in a lot of inner city schools already and it works pretty well. The is no reason the social studies teacher should have to carry a firearm - that isnt who they are. This is not part of their job or training or even mindset. Trained security or at the very least a veterans coalition of screened volunteers possibly . I say put it to a referrendum vote at each school . For an extra $20-$25 a year per person it passes in most schools by 75%. We pay for a guard at the social security office , DMV etc but we wont pay for guards at a school. Cmon. Stop leaving it as a soft target. People will always want to do harm lets not leave the schools unprotected and stop pretending that this needs to be our last place of innocence.
  9. When I went to Florida to visit my mom I had that 3 times while I was there it was so good.
  10. Yeah it has a rack in it with 3 dividers too. Looks like you could put like 3 London broils in it.
  11. Don't all good conversations begin with a beer!
  12. im looking at this one to try . $92 at walmart online
  13. i was looking at these last night. I have points on my credit card for gift cards and have a $100 one coming. So was looking at them. There is one online at walmart for $92. It the whole setup for a water bath and not just the thermometer/attachment for a cooking pot. Might give it a try - have heard so much about them on here. Would like to try a london broil in them and see how it comes out. And venison of course.
  14. The worrisome part is that they recently announced they will be selling. The owner is an older fellow and the kids don't want the business. So hoping they renew this. They said it was for 4 stores.
  15. Had a gun I wanted to check out sent to the local herb phillipsons store from another store out of the area. Well it came in yesterday so I stopped quick on my lunch to check it out. I liked it and they even had a scope I wanted to go with it. So during lunch wasn't gonna have time to do paperwork, mount scope etc. So I went back after work. Got there and they told me they couldn't sell, show or unlock any of the guns or ammo cause their firearms license was still in renewal but wasn't done. They were just notified. Cripes. Missed it by 3 hours. Now that's a tease. Handle the gun and can't buy it. Disappointing........ They are gonna hold it for me and call when it's settled. They can't even transfer it to another store and I get it there til it's renewed. Ruger 450 bushmaster.
  16. put a bounty on them! each stump has a 12 pack under it! seriously though a lot of big jobs have gotten done with a keg of beer and some food on the grill. If you got a few buddies and a decent weekend might get a lot of the work done there and have a decent time doing it. (by the way I am busy that weekend lol) Other than that its equipment or take one stump out every weekend by hand for the summer.
  17. hollow them out and fill them with seed.... for the birds!
  18. an idiot buddy of mine was wearing those at our last hunt/fish trip. Except he was using them to find out what the neighbors were cooking. He was sitting on the front porch of the cabin , mostly drunk with the game ears on and a set of binoculars. lol yeah hes a character
  19. Tannerite for that many stumps will prob put you on a watch list! lol
  20. without power equipment - I would either blow them up or hire summer help! You can burn them but that wont get rid of the big roots right there if you plan to til it. I would prob rent some equipment to get them out. Thats a lot of stumps esp if they are large trees. If you dont have equipment or are able to dig them out then thats about the only option, short of hiring stump removal.
  21. i pass shots cause the identified target isnt broadside or its a bad angle or they're moving or there is too much brush or its skylined or the direction behind it is bad etc etc etc........no excuse for something like this.
  22. Plus Biz trying to drive up the other 6 percent we talked about . Lol.
  23. Not old dudes that wear aqua velvet. Lol And yes I resemble that remark.
