  1. Baling hay Saturday. A big hen stepped into the field out of a hedge row after grasshoppers. I could see the ground moving inside the hedgerow but the poults never came out. I got quite close to her with the tractor before she walked back into cover. That surprised me.
  2. Welters call them groundhog radish. I plant 7 - 8 lb to the acre. Does the ground a lot of benefit as well as the deer.
  3. I just can't get field corn planted, so I have to turn to other forms of carbs.. I like my Daikon Radish. Always get them at Welters Seed & Honey Co. I'm sold on their use for deer feeding supplement. Plant in August when the weather at it's finest for tillage. Gosh darn it, I just can't say enough good about them, LOL. The proofs in the pudding!
  4. Video my first batch last Wednesday. Very tiny, maybe a few days old. Could only view them in the eye of the camcorder. Anyone else seeing them? I'll get that video posted in the near I
  5. to Paula and Mr VJP.. Born on the Forth of July. How lucky is that!
  6. Glad to see your effort put forth! Good luck and please post some pics on their progress. I'm curious as to how they will do.
  7. Be interested to see why it's swinging in the breeze.
  8. A good hand meat saw works just as well, without the bronze from the armature and carbon from the brushes.
  9. Interesting. They may be sold in New York, but can't be used legally. Like Deer Cane.
  10. I've never hit one; close calls, yes sure ree bob. If I ever do, that deers going to have a date with my freezer!
  11. Nice pics. Wasn't aware eagles were that far west. My son was by Motor Island yesterday, reeling in Small Mouths. Dads going to enjoy some nice pan fish tonight! On a side note, it's free fishing weekend in New York. Enjoy everyone!
  12. Looking good! Hard work should pay off this fall. That reminds me to get my order into Welters.
  13. I believe the time required for DEC. action depends on the situation at hand. I had a similar problem, years ago. Our local ECO was excellent and moved the process right along quickly.
  14. I'm working off a Dell D630 Refurb. from Amazon that's 3 years old for $150. Bought 3 more for the fam., paid $149 FS. Every one has been top notch with tight hinges. Quite a few companies purchase this way. Look at the sellers reviews carefully before buying. Their is no arguement for being outdate, hell the new ones are already outdated when u buy them. I believe their's real value here on a pretty good, kept secret.
  15. I couldn't give you a price, but they sure would sell at Antique World & Flea Market in Clarence. Edit: Selling on Ebay, anywhere from $75 - $450 made out of rustic barn wood.
  16. I've seen them. Their offered small, medium, and super size, LOL.
  17. Congrats! Sounds like you had a once in a lifetime hunting adventure the will never be forgotten. Handling of the meat and hide must meet some challenges this time of the year. I'm sure the preserve handles the specifics.
  18. Picked up a good dresser, a pool pump and filter, a nice 16" tire on a rim, and my best find was a faded $100 bill that had been driven over several times. Took it to the bank, and they give me a nice new crisp one. If this counts, I found $182 under my foot once at Empire Farm Days. That I give back to it's owner.
  19. Happy birthday! May your look out tower be straight and sturdy, clear as Windex glass.
  20. The alcohol plant in Medina needs to be fed corn.
  21. The DEC. states that they want to keep bear populations from becoming established in WMU'S 4A - 9F by opening a bear season in the entire bow and firearm seasons by removing the adult population. It surprises me that this subject has ending so quickly. So few of comments, and such a huge subject! I'm interested in submitting a comment to the DEC. before July 7th. Right at this point, not sure what to think. Can we get some more input on this subject? The good, bad, and the ugly.
