  1. Don't it just make you all fuzzy inside knowing you helped out a person in need. Nice coat! Can we get some modeling pics, LOL.
  2. Zonal Flow of the jet stream has been NW. to SE. for the better part of 10 months or so now. I would agree that a colder than normal winter is in store, if this pattern holds. The northern branch of the jet stream winds are expected to dip father south earlier. Lows pressure systems are steered by these winds. Clockwise rotation around these lows will make wind directions come from the NE, to the NW right over the non frozen waters of Lake Ontario. Better oil up your shovels, cause friends, we're going to get some good old lake effect snow, this winter. The only way to shut off the lake effect machine is to have cold enough temps. and wind to freeze the lake. Lake Ontario only froze over once since records have been kept, and we sure don't want to see that.
  3. They start eating the tops here usually next month. It's highly fluid on other food sources.
  4. Polar Vortex is nothing more than the northern branch of the jet stream moving farther south than it usually does for that time of year. Nothing new here. Can remember several historic starts to the mid October Southern zone bow season with a foot of lake effect snow on the ground.
  5. Split, their both version of the 55 gear. The DK55 had the highest lifting capacity in that size tractor going. Add a 3pt hitch lever on the rear of the tractor to raise and lower 3 pt. hitch without having to go in the cab. Telescoping lower 3 pt. hitch links make hookup a breeze. Safety feature on p.t.o. stops rotation if the 3 pt. is lifted to high. The 4 cylinder 134 cu. in. turbo charged engine is "very" fuel friendly. Customers said they can work the tractor on 3 quarts of diesel/ hour. They were a very easy tractor to sell at the time. Don't forget todays tractor are rated gross engine HP.. Subtract 7 hp. more for p.t.o.. Kioti hp. are advertised low. I've dyno several 55's and they all were 52 p.t.o. hp.. I owned a 55C for a while and really hated to sell it to a customer. It was such a user friendly unit. The only complaint I had was the fiber glass hood. My brush lines scraped it up pretty good.
  6. Caught a view of this guy this year, but he wasn't wearing this head gear.
  7. I sold some DK 65's which to my knowledge are still going strong. They were the largest Kioti sold at the time. I have several 55's C in the field, one 2005 longing over 6000 engine hours to date. They just had to rebuild the shuttle tran. Still had the original clutch which wasn't slipping.
  8. Tractorhouse.com was a site I used several times, both as a dealer and as a customer. Might be valuable to you. Kinda like the cars.com for tractors.
  9. We've planted hidden spots like yours in the past. We would get hundreds of pics of wildlife. Every critter out there like to visit those more relaxed areas. Our deer density, is so high here, they would be nothing left, come hunting season though.
  10. Use to sell Kioti till 2011. Went to many service schools over the years. Owned a few also. Look at McCormicks, their Kioti's too. What size did you have in mind?
  11. All pretty much black and orange here. Did see one this morning. Landed on my arm and felt something crawling. A lot of black color, head end. Not so much tail. Means an early nasty start to winter.
  12. LOL. My son dropped this one off the screen, as he's so fond of them also. Few hours later, right back in place. She aught to be laying eggs shortly. For the last several years, snakes and wooly bears were a dime a dozen around here. I lost count the number of snakes hanging out of hay bales. The woolies would crawl out of the bales and climb all over the barn. This year, I haven't seen one snake. Very few woolies too.
  13. New York has no money for testing. All going into Cuomo New York revive, start new business ads. Why would they learn by previous software issues when this whole DECALS. system started? We're talking about New York here now, LOL
  14. Acorns still green here. Nice 3 or 4 to a cluster. My Shagbark Hickories have been dropping mature nuts for 2 weeks now. Someone said their diseased. Look healthy to me. Squirrels and turkeys don't think so either, LOL. Going to be tough to know where to set up for this Fall.
  15. Few more pics. A clue to who likes to visit., LOL. My lettuce, cabbage, and vetch seed just came in. Something new to try for forage. The last pic is the trail I leave next to the brush line. I leave about a 4 foot width, as bucks tend to travel these during their rounds of breeding. I witnessed a buck last season, excise his services here.
  16. You young whipper snapper. Right in your prime. Have a wonderful day!
  17. August is when I pull into high gear with food source plantings for wildlife. I planting differently this season. Trying strip planting. This will be my first year. Will end up with radish, turnip, beet, wheat, oat, alfalfa, red clover, birdfoot trefoil, chickory, and finer grasses side by side. In about a 14 acre parcel. I will be adding corn next season, weather permitting. Berries, apples, pears, and mast crops are nearby. I also have a good source of other wild berry selection. The idea is to give the wildlife a food source selection, to provide a lasting habitat throughout the year. I don't know if it will work, but it sure can't hurt. I like to give back to nature, for what she has provided.
  18. We'll that didn't work. So much for video posting. Anyways, it's the bird on the far left.
  19. Elmo, it sure better to be safe, then sorry.
  20. that a jake could be accompanying a hen with poults. I filmed something last night that I have never seen before. It could be a larger bodied bearded hen too. I just don't know at this point from observations. If the larger one get to close to the poults, the mother will grab a beak full of feathers, to let it know it's to close.
