    About 41 degrees. Where did summer go?

    Wild rabbits all over here. Must be on their 3rd litter. Got rabbits running out of the hay, ahead of the haybine. We're also loaded with fat field mice and wooly bear catipillars. Alot of dark on both ends. Hope that doesn't mean a bad beginning and end to winter.

    That would put February breeding with gestation at 200 days. Fresh signs of breeding, were still showing here then. I don't doubt it.

    Looks good. Lawdwaz is correct. The small square bales do make an excellent blind. I' ve used them for years. I found a piece of hog wire yesterday. Now you're have given me an idea for a waterproof roof. Thanks!

    The fawns really have to work the bag for milk let down, this time of year. The doe is, more in likely starting to dry up, at that fawns age.

    Retire it. Not worth having one blow up in my face. I don't trust carbon arrows, that have passed through the body of an animal.

    Would have to be mature. By mature, 5 1/2 or older. Our standards are also set high by rack size. We operate on this principle, and have for many years.

    It also depend on how much material was worked into, or plowed down into the soils. Decomposition of material in the soil can use a tremendous amount of nitrogen from the plant, not making it readily available. This is why I like to summer fallow my fall grain grounds. It allows the soils to break down plant material over the summer months and also rest the soil, so nitrogen, that is introduced into the soil, becomes available to plants life quicker.
