  1. I remember 76-77; that was a hard winter. Snowstorms weekly. Energy Crisis, Blizzard, and a new tractor buried in 20 ' of snow in the barn.
  2. I would hope the green score is a little conservative.
  3. Don't always believe everything written in books, LOL.
  4. Oh I agree with your statement. The big ones tend to get clumsy, at this big size. Just have to be there for the event.
  5. Maybe fines would make people think twice about not reporting. Put into a fund to employ more government. More revenue for the state to waste.
  6. Something like 4 " in diameter; 7" or so tall? Fat a dumpy, thermos wise. Something stable that is less likely to tip over. I have a new Stanley tall slim line versions. It going on the next contest, LOL. I never buy used. Don't know if weed killer was stored in it.
  7. They have plenty of seed in the pods, lower on the plant. Non mature higher on the plant. Combines couldn't run the grain through. Seed was soft like a peas. I really don't want to see another year like this one was.
  8. We have fields of soybeans around that will be left. Never hardened up. They didn't germinate because of the drought; then came up after the July 22nd rain. Deer are hitting them hard.
  9. Remember to bring some type of hearing protection for him.
  10. Looks as though he has some age on him. Lost quite a bit of weight compared to the trail cam pics.
  11. Public land, private land, it can still happen. It Bush's fault, LOL.
  12. Smart boy; nocturnal as hell. That's how they get "big"; my friends.
  13. Speculate on the cause of death. Hit by a car; old age?
  14. Deer are smart animals. Reserve energy levels in colder temperature. Deer travel around more in colder weather, is just a myth. Still plenty of food sources here. They don't have to travel far. Also we notice that snow on the ground bumps'em right into nocturnal. In the heavy cover more.
  15. Put a 200" buck between the two hunters. Then we'll watch the sparks fly.
  16. Thought I would post some late season pics to show what the plantings look like on 11-19-18. Rye has been visited some as well as the radish. Plenty to eat around with not the activity of other years.
  17. Exactly the right size. Maybe the size of a kids lunch pail thermos, but, gin of half the size' larger diameter.
  18. We'll have fawns being born here in late April 19, as usual.
  19. Ceasar Cavez president U.F.W. ( United Farm Workworkers Union) 1970 I believe, called for a boycott of nonunion picked lettuce. Sparked out rage in certain parts of the country. Rioting occured. They did the same thing with grapes, few years earlier.
  20. If you saw where they grow lettuce in Mexico in, you would throw all your lettuce out and never buy it again. On a side note; How many remember the lettuce boycott back in the early 70's? My uncle VW bug was destroyed in Chicago riot over lettuce. All he got back was the steering wheel. I still have it, somewhere around.
  21. More Prizes Added To The Contest: First Place: Summit Full Body Harness Hunter Specialties " Butt Out" tool Second Place: Full Body Harness Hero Shot: Hunter Specialties "Butt Out 2" tool Huntin' Hoist Retracting Rope 2- Full Body Harnesses DNC- Turkey Mouth Call *****I added the prizes to the original prize posts ~WNYBuckHunter*****
  22. Snow cover sends the deer into nocturnal here. Expecting a slow weekend opener. Hope I'm wrong, LOL. Good luck to everyone going a field and be safe!
  23. Smokers tend to smoke more when their consuming alcohol too.
