Maple Syrup Season 2017
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in General Chit Chat
Season ended for me yesterday. About same amount of syrup from 16 more taps then last year. Longer season, the last two years, but less syrup to show for it. -
Just to keep your mind occupied ....
landtracdeerhunter replied to growalot's topic in Turkey Hunting
Seen turkey tracks in the mud yesterday while pulling taps. Some scratching in the woods. Early for this area. -
Going through cam pics...

Partly cloudy with a 100% chance of trespassers. Have the makings of a firearm with a white flag coming out the barrel. -
Should of went Western Union. What does cash even look like anymore?

Hoping to squeeze one more run after this cool down. The buds are getting larger here. Trees are slowing down on each warm up we have. -

Kubota Tractors
landtracdeerhunter replied to bigpaul's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
For years, majors and short line alike had a saying that a Kubota dealers worst competition is another Kubota dealer. For the op, it you can operate a shuttle clutch model effectively, don't buy a hydro. -

Any brand can have issues and no color has been left out in past years That is why manufactures cover warranties on their products, which is only good as the servicing dealer behind them. -

Free Wildflower Seeds to Save The Bees
landtracdeerhunter replied to kpkot's topic in General Chit Chat
I will order some, not because it will save the honey bees, but because I have bought enough cereal, they owe me. -
Breaking ground what to use?
landtracdeerhunter replied to corydd7's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
An acre and a half is not that much ground to get prepped. Sandy loam soils adds a bonus. Simple tools from the hardware store and a little elbow grease would get the job done in short order. -

Going to get interesting gathering sap again in this snow pack. And to think, I put the snow shoes away, LOL. -
I run corn through the coffee grinder to give to the little birdies during snow pack days. Even woodcock have paid a visit and checked out the suet. They have had easy pickens till a few days ago.

Just lining up his cards in a row. A tax payer paid run for the White House. -
Gander Mountain Files for Bankruptcy
landtracdeerhunter replied to Elmo's topic in General Chit Chat
The biggest reason why business file chapter 11 is to get the creditors off their back. Creditors cannot call in their loans, thus allowing a business to reorganize and restructure their cash flow. Gander, very well could come out of this with flying colors. -

Last time I read that thread, Biz was stranded on a train in NYC.. Wonder how he made out? -
Yeah, almost like they were campaigning.

It's not very nice outside here at current. Heavy falling snow with northwest winds gusting to 40, white out conditions reported throughout the county. Roads are passable, but slippery. Snow plow was tipped over on the 190 this morning. -
I remember our bus got stuck in a snow bank back in 77. A few of the larger students, including myself; got on the back and pushed it free. Some good times .

Someone commented on global warming on the last comment. Most likely the government censored it. -

I have a nice spot of loamy ground where the ph is running 5.9. Going to plant a couple hundred pounds of certified Kennebec potatoes this season. -
Yes and a great deer hunter set up as well. Just watch the widow makers.
