  1. I have always dragged them out. Seems deer always die at bottom of hill and drag is always up hill. This year I have a sxs so getting deer out shouldn't be as hard but still will need to get the deer to a spot the sxs can get to.
  2. Labor time for repair goes up when I work on it.
  3. I would save my money. And I hate oil under a vehicle, mean to do to your mechanic.
  4. Thats what should have been done in the first place. Televising it made it grow bigger
  5. I am sure I will see my share today. Heading home from South Carolina.
  6. My wife doesn't hunt or fish. I have tried but nope. My oldest daughter hunts and fishes. She shows up opening morning of gun season and I walk her to a stand. She has yet to get a deer though. Last year she shot them with her camera instead of her gun. Youngest daughter doesn't hunt or fish, rather go shopping and get her hair done with mom.
  7. Catfish cooked up. Also kept 1 white catfish about 13 inches.
  8. Seen some deer around the area, no horns. Got fishing license this morning. Fished after dinner. Caught a catfish on a jig. About 2 foot long. A storm moved in so didn't fish too long. Gonna be out first thing in the morning
  9. Wife booked it. She used homeaway. Thats about all I know.
  10. My family and I are in South Carolina for the week on lake Monticello. Beautiful place and fishing is suppose to be great. Hope to post some big bass pics and catch some catfish for a fish fry.
  11. I did not have that. I was very defiant. But hunting and fishing always brought my father and I together. Now we are best friends. Guess it can work both ways
  12. Wifes first attempt at canning. Made pickles with cucumbers from the garden
  13. With a knofe it isnt bad when done the way I was shown. Stick it in the throat then cut out, don't try to cut from outside in, doesn't work so good
  14. I will be the only one leasing the property. Its a 50 acre piece. I have several pieces of land currently that I have permission to hunt but things can change without notice. That is why I am looking at leasing. I figure on leasing alone cause I find people are interested till its time to pay. The piece I am looking at I learned how to hunt on 25 years ago. I grew up next door to it. We as kids use to build forts with the dead wood laying around. While up there it brought back memories.
  15. It's a 3 year lease agreement. I can use all year long. Can camp, put camper on it use wheeler. My understanding is use as my own, but do not have exact details.
  16. I am thinking of leasing some land from a timber company. I spent the weekend checking it out. Seen deer while on the land. The property was logged 2 or 3 years ago. It looks promising. Just wondering if others have leased land and how it worked out. Pros, and cons, thanks
  17. 20ga, 12ga, .270, recurve compound, and compound. And 50 cal muzzleloader
  18. Must be nice. In the woods today and acorns look good
  19. We don't have any apples this year on our trees.
  20. Thanks for volunteering your time. I remember the blood trail part of my safety course. Good information. I took a boater safety course given by the chemung county sheriffs office about 5 years ago and it was nice that I could ask questions that were not covered in the safety book. The boater safety course did cost money though. I think its great the state offers hunter safety courses for free.
  21. I currently have 6 stands up based on last year and winter movement. I have a couple more to get up yet. Currently thinking about leasing a piece of land I learned to hunt on as a kid so they may go there. Season is getting close.
