Belo , I could take pictures of over a dozen 2.5+ year old deer mounts or antlers that a sloppy hunter has killed in some pretty heavily pressured areas. Just sayin...lol

I shot my biggest 10 point in that pie shaped piece...Ahh ...uughh.. I mean I tried.. instead I came out with a 4" dia. dead stump that I did not see in the little bit of grass between him and I... lol .

I've gotten into the habit of opening all my snack stuff and putting in a sandwich bag. Makes it a lot quieter to open.. oh and I never/rarely leave home without my coffee thermos..

Congrats on the deer!.. He may not be the one you wanted but he is the one headed for the freezer.. You cannot kill a booner every year, and if your not careful you could take the fun out of it.

Guess I am blessed .. 99% of the people i have met are good people. One of my former businesses was selling firewood(1000+ cord a year) and I would trust everyone, only got screwed out of money twice . Once, I new better and the other was totally unexpected.

LOl, i like it. I keep on saying I'm going to put up a snow fence, 40 yds out past my shooting lanes, in one of my favorite bow spots. Deer like easy paths, they could jump the fence but more than likely will walk around especially if i angled it. If it is on state land and I remove fence after hunt , think its legal? lol

It is a given, the less we smell like humans and our stuff the better... Personally, I don't have a scent regimen at all. I try to pay attention to the wind direction and hunt accordingly. I have a pretty good track record considering , I stink...lol I do get busted by deer all the time, though more deer wonder by clueless upwind.

That sucks. The getting hit in the nose part.. Now tell us the truth. you poked her when she said you had had to stay home and skip night watch.....lol

I don't have an iPhone, but my HTC android does everything that I need it to do. I am happy with my HTC android phone.

Reminds me of the time I shot a 7 point during a drive . It ran 50yds or so . My buddy , pulls and bam !!! floors him. At least that is what he thought..... If it wasn't for the blood trail from where I shot and the lack of a second hole, he would have liked to have claimed that deer... ha.. We had a debate for a few minutes until we were able to pick up the blood trail.

That is what I thought until it happened to me.. 1st, and chances are the last time it will ever happen to me . that day had "perfect" conditions...

lol... I had that happen maybe 10 years ago or so... Frozen action not the other.. After sitting most of the day in late Nov(started out freezing rain turning to snow with a low in the single digits) a nice 8 point stepped into my shooting lane. i clicked off the safety and pulled the trigger. Nothing, i the exposed slide part of the Mauser action slowly slid forward with a dull clunk. Not even close to enough force to fire the round. It was dead calm and you would have thought there was a bang the way that buck took off, I never even got a chance to try a second time...

Here are my predictions, I will see the same 4 point again, maybe 2 does,..... Oh.. and then the big 12 steps out.. A guy can always dream , right?
