Personally, I'm not a fan of baiting, not a fan of high fence hunts, not a fan of laws making either one illegal either...lol... Not being a diehard duck hunter, when I hunt ducks I'm all for shooting them on the water ( less chance of missing or wounding them). I hear from some of my buddies this is "unethical" . I guess baiting deer would be similar to some.

I think that we as hunters ,realizing the system isn't perfect, need to take some responsibility in the managing of our deer herds. For example,. In my home area ,6a I could easily see the decline of deer #s even before the DEC caught on and finally eliminated dmps. Just because it was legal to do so I chose to not take the #s that were permitted me. Meanwhile many did not and yet are still complaining about the lack of deer.HELLO.... On the other hand during our Letchworth trip, I make a pile out of them..lol. When I can see 20-30 doe in a sit then shooting a few isn't going to hurt. 5 miles deeper into the park I have a hard time seeing any deer at times. I wouldn't shoot a doe out of those spots even if it wasn't a b#$%$ to drag them out..

I am fairly certain , worms(live ones,not plastic) are considered live bait.

I do not provide ID to buy ammo or fuel..Bunch of bs ..imho. if I was buying corn at a shop it would be because it was cheap or I didn't feel like making another stop to buy food for my pigs,goats, or chickens. And it isn't any of their dam business who I am.

I'm a little different I guess. I would be offended if they asked for my ID. This coming from a guy that refuses to pre-pay for gas. If they will not take my debit card at the pump, I refuse to go in(1/2 the time I want something in the store anyway, but it is just the principle) . I will drive to the next station that will trust me or take payment at the pump..lol

I never wear a face mask or paint. Usually have a full beard + hunt 75% of the time from 30'. I''ve killed more deer in sweat pants and shirt than I have in my fancy camo.lol Killed many from the ground, but being still is the key..

LOL. That is funny .. I can picture it now..."What do you mean, corn will not sprout in Nov?" Maybe a person could get a destroy permit even, because the deer are digging up and destroying your seed.

Funny you say that, I saw the fewest # of dear ever in my orchard..the ground was still covered with apples In Dec... That has never happened before either.

Ours seem to be 50 /50 , but after last years bounty this year is bound to be a little disappointing.

I never made it all the way to the top but did ski Tuckerman's Ravine once. Any place that still has that much snow in may is cold..lol

Sorry, even though it's in my neck of the woods, I am no help. I have only fished the St Regis closer to the S R Falls in the spring and using worms..

That's the truth.. I spend 90% of my fishing time Lm bass fishing. Over the years I have collected enough cool tackle to make my tackle box worth an easy $500.. For the last few years I have "polished" my worm fishing techniques and except for early morn and evenings(top water) that's all i throw.. lol If you are like me , with quick reflexes, ya gotta learn to slow down that hook set on tw lures until you feel the fish, that splash always gets ya though...

We seem to have a disproportionate amount of political topics,esp during the off season. There have been a few things brought to my attention that I was happy to see being discussed. I always click on" new content" and there is a whole page of recent topics , so I don't see any real problems .

3 years ago I needed a new pair of hunting boots. Low on funds I bought the cheapest leather goretex boots(iron ridge) they sold($100 then,maybe a little more now). They have turned out to be one of the best under$200 boot I have bought to date. They are still waterproof and useable except for the lack of tread. I ussualy wear a boot out in 1-2 years.

We all have to remember when disagreeing to not get or take things personally... Just because papist and that other guy are idiots..JUST KIDDING!!!! Lol doesn't meen we might not sit around a deer camp and have a good time..

It is amazing how quick our rights are revoked . A friend of mine(a goody 2 shoes ) has had his pistol permit for 20+ years without even a traffic infraction. He was stupid and was arrested for a DWI, for being barely over the limit, and they came to his house and took all of his pistols. He got them all back months later, but at the time was not even able transfer them onto his fathers permit.

I hear you VJP As our population gets further and further from the land we lose touch with realities. In the country we still carry our guns in our trucks everyday, at least during hunting season. Still , out of respect I would leave my gun in the truck(out of sight and locked in) when getting out to walk down a town street or go into a store. I do not get strange looks when riding my bicycle from one of my local hunting spots a few miles up the road. I could start knocking on doors all the way to town(8 miles) and would be not be surprised to find gun owners at every stop until I hit the village and then the #s are going to plummet. would I pick up an armed hitchhiker walking up a rural road apparently going or coming back from the woods? probably. Would I pick up an AK carrying goof walking up main street?, not a chance.

I hunted for 15 years or so with a 100gr muzzy with great luck, except for the occasional poor shot(not the broadheads fault). Eventually got the itch to try these newfangled mechanicals, and have waffled back and forth for the last 7 years or so . At this point ,esp after last year I am really liking the rage coc 2.3" extremes.
