I dont really care if i go out or not and I'm only 47. The only.spark I get is setting someone up to get a deer or turkey.. I can kill a deer like clockwork and really.dont find It challenging. I get no rush seeing I big buck the body just goes into automatic. Next thing I know I have to field dress and take it to get processed or take to taxidermist. Does are an ok I want meat target.. I wish I felt like I did when I was in my 20s and saw deer. My 70 year old hunting partner and I spend more time scouting out the local cuisine. I have more fun just being at camp.and enjoy the comroderie hunting act itself.has become secondary I don't think age has anything to do with it.

My woods are thick. I use a 45-70. Bear are becoming common good out to 250 yards if need be. But my shots are usually 50 and under. Think of it as a multiple shot muzzleloader..45 cal bullet and 70.grains of powder. Originally designed to shoot through 2 in of solid oak and kill person on other side .they do make larger 45's 45- 90, And 45 -120 bonus is they are rimmed rifle and legal in Ohio should you go there for so.e reason And will kill efficiently any game in North America.. actually lifted an elk off the ground and slammed it to the ground.

Against the limb under cut then cut through.. the common thing in all these accidents are lack of a face.cut while " topping" no under cut on limb so it hinged ( you can see the bark tear of bottom of limb) and lack of directing wedge and face cut when felling..
-
Would if been fine if he cut limb properly it hinged as he didnt cut under limb.. and a limb that big should of been cut out a few feet from trunk 1st..

Adult birds are tough for a yote to get. Hens on nest or young ones are a different story. Most likely the yotes were moving through the area.. bet you hear them gobbling again soon.

You can draw turkey to roost in your area by doing several things. The easiest it to trim up a few trees on an edge.. this allows the birds to fly up with out flying thru a bunch of limbs that face a field or open area. They prefer horizontal limbs 1.5 in in diameter with a brush free area to fly down in. Trimming out limbs above these limbs may promote them to pick your limb. As well as removing enough for a fly down area.. Birds will often go to the higest point when strutting in a "flat woods"a 2 ft rise is huge for them .especially if in a brush free area to bee seen.. Bust open that ant hill on the edge of the woods or in that open area.. birds like to dust and roost close to dusting areas ( they like to eat ants as well). Think twice before plowing under that fallow field to make it a food plot. It may be prime nesting and fawning area. Especially with so many fallow fields put back into production as corn prices rise ..

Woods change perhaps thier roost area was cut down and your became prefered. Still your best chance will be early season. At my place they roost in a ravine early season and as it goes by they leave the ravine and move about 200 or 300 down the ridge a week .as things green up . Eventually ending up about a half to 3/4 of a mile from where they were roosting beginning of the season.its a pretty predictable pattern hand has held true since the late 90s

Well you maybe in luck this spring.. we are having one anytime soon .snow by the weekend again..the birds may be confused and stay there thinking it's winter.... Seriously though it depends more on time od day you saw them. The closer to sunrise or sunset the better your chances off them.staying in area for early season. Mid day they me roosting a mile or more away and are just looking for food

Attachments come in all different grades even the name brands..heavy duty is only way to go with any attachment the extra you pay is worth it..

For the price you pay for the kitchen aid this would do your grinding for your lifetime.. better deals can be found inthe bargain cave as well https://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Heavy-Duty-Grinder/1387520.uts?productVariantId=3266836&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=03520677&rid=20&ds_rl=1252079&gclid=Cj0KCQjwtOLVBRCZARIsADPLtJ3Zcgdzf25CSko26mnMo4UpnX0LbdU0GVAt0zCiqhknZSGeS2xw7XwaAv0qEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Partly frozen meat is key. Personally a good dedicated grinder is pretty inexpensive( same.cost as cutting a deer up commercially)And you will have it the rest of your life. 1/4 or 1/3 hp is all you need as a homeowner.

Stopped carrying a vest. To much crap i never used.besides a pad to sit on(on a belt) I carry a small bag .this contains a box, push box, ceramic, glass, and slate pot.calls. 7 different strikers and a conditioning kit. It has a smaller compartment that holds a pen a extra set of gloves and extra face mask. I carry an owl hooter in my.pocket

This is actually the worse time for deer. Conserving energy is number 1 priority. Food is sparce. Travel to minimum and heat retention to maximum. In a few weeks it all changes when thing s start to green up

He's invented a new butterfly camo pattern.. it's in its field test stage....

The loss of the steel industry in America is the root cause of many problems in society today. When they closed Manu good paying jobs were lost. Forcing both parents to work to make ends meet. Or moving out of state to work. This cause the fracturing of the family unit. Gone was the stay at home parent teaching children their morals and values. Gone was the possibility of having the grand parents watch their grand kids while the parents worked as they were no living out of town or state. Children were/are sent to day care, or plopped in front of tv or video games.. these became the teachers of morals.and ethics. So yes they are a good thing, yes it will hurt economy for awhile. But forcing the return of manufacturing to the USA in the long term is a very good thing.. I'd like to see them raised every few years. Really there is no reason for us to buy a foreign product. We have nearly 400million workers and buyers in this county. And can be very self suffient. The rest of the world needs us we don't need them.. j apan recognised this decades ago and built plants in the USA for their automobiles fearing2 we would of done this back in the 80s.. we didn't and now look at our problems..

You should be able pull a 8 ft disk no problem. And more likely a 10ft. I pull a 8ft 3pt with float hitch with 35 horse kioti with no problem.. the heavier and bigger the better..and transport other 3 pt if you can find one
-
That's good to hear. Lose to much hp on hydro transmissions
-
Like kioti, best bang for the buck.. but not a fan of hydraulic in general.

If I have a big buck on a early summer pattern I won't take a doe and concentrate on him. If I don't have a target buck figured out I take the 1st adult doe( preferably one that has twin button bucks) asap. Usually withing the 1st week. My effort then goes into patterning a target buck. I have meat inthe freezer as they say. And its well removed from rut. Bringing the ballance closer to 1 to 1 and seems to make the rut better.
