Buy the one with the frame that fits your mouth.. reed..the more the raspier I've never seen a reason for more than 2. I don't gobblers chase in fall. So no need for gobbler calls. I do not like to use mouth calls in general but I always had to use small framed calls or I gag. (And I have no reason or desire to over come my gag reflex) I'll stick with my pots and pushover.

I would stay off field edges , there appears to be a drainage or intermittent stream cutting thru woods and exiting out the north I would set up 50 to 70 yard on inside corner and follow what looks like a drainage to the north for more sign /crossings. I assume a sw or nw wind and that main bedding would be in thick yellow hash area. . If wind assumption is correct entrance from north wood lot line for sw wind and southern line for me. I would not use mowed trail to east of hashed area as I feel travel there by other will move deer out . And I do not care for field hunting as better bucks will always hold up inside woods till dark

I would look at Arial and topo to give idea of lay of the land( if your experienced you can tell tree types from Arial photos as well) and if you can I would walk the property now.. heavy trails old rubs, beds and stands will be visible. As well as piles of deer poop . Take a tree guide with you and identify what trees the poop is under if need be. Mark on, your maps. Come June take a pair of Binocular and go to these tree sites and look for nuts or fruit on them. This will Give you good idea of where to set stands in July for season.with minimal disturbance to deer.

Go to Missouri and look for diamonds at the national park..when you find them you keep them..

Think is missing on band on left leg as well as tag on inter wing.. if tagged 2003 thay bird is at least 16 years old.. amazing imo
-
Bird can be aged from color of tags and letter your crow may have been tagged in 2003.. you need to see legbands to verify..I can't see well enough on phone..please report bird as per asked in link http://www.birds.cornell.edu/crows/taginfo.htm
-
That bird is part of the study out of Cornell I believe.. the letters tell you year it was tagged..they are always looking for Info on their birds..I'll see if I can find a link..http://www.birds.cornell.edu/crows/taginfo.htm

They are a poor idea..they talk about doing with trains.. but people get where they are in expected and not programmed in.. atvs, hunters, hikers, kids. All need someone there to catch the unexpected.. Cars would have same issues and lots of people would get killed.. powerlines down across road,Jay walkers, downed trees.. all problems that could create bad accidents. Not to mention road conditions. Stray pets, ect

Have over 40 stands and I have for.25 years wlaked except 2 sanctuary that are more important than food plots
-
Your area 2 is chocked with deer and in 25 years I have still not found a way to enter it without spooning them out.. we usually reserve that area for drives as it's very steep and every tree is covered in thorns( or at least it seem like it) 99% of the time this is kept as a sanctuary do to lack proper entrance and visability is less than 10 yards in most places. 1 is a decent spot but no where near the best.
-
I can give you no information on 4 as I do not have access to it. Your 3a and b are either side of a swamp a is used for bedding but both spots are usually bad by time season comes due to the neighbors travel route( always have a good entrance and exit) 1 is probably one of the best early spots for general deer movement after that again the neighbors travel route makes it a desert for gun.. I'll speak on. Others spots later

It's does on,my post but here it is again..

Bald eagles will take advantage of carrion (dead and decaying flesh), giving it a scavenger image, which causes some people to dislike eagles. Other people do not care for powerful and aggressive birds; while some object merely on the grounds that it is a bird of prey which kills other animals for food as for their fishing activities.. they take fish floating or near the surface which is usually a dead.or dying fish. Though they will take live top feeders they are going to as you say take the easiest meal. Scavenging. Falcons do not. Hence Franklin's aversion to the eagle
-
Eagles are scavengers.. and that is why Ben Franklin was so against them becoming the national symbol. ( no he didn't want the turkey either) he preferred a falcon a hunter. Other members were against the falcon as that was in common use in Europe and they just faught a war to leave European influences. Ben was so upset with the eagle that he penned a letter stating if we're were going .to use a scavenger then we might as well pick the turkey as it was at least a good protective mother to its young.. and the.myth of him wanting the turkey was born. ( read the entire coresponding letters if you don't believe me) like so much on this site taken out of context and offending people..

Thought maybe those who have cabin fever will want to give it a go

1st thing you should all notice is the differences in the topo to actual Ariel photo.. the timber marked on the topo is no longer correct as many fields have become over grown .. this provides browse and cover that doesn't show on the topo. 2nd Is the timber marked on the topo is still there and presumably is Now older and mature.. though some shows sign of logging in the arial

So another post had me thinking .. this is a piece of my property and I know the most productive stand sites having owned it over 25 years.. so let's play a game.. best spot for general deer hunting and best spot for a mature buck.. I'd give prizes if I had any but best I can do is a pat on the back.. just for general info the most productive spot has produced over 70 deer in 24 years. ( I exclude my friends on this site that hunt with me sorry tom, shawn, and tim) before some one says omg your giving away a spot to hunt . I live here and have the fall off to hunt. Not to mention yes it's posted and I have friends who hunt it as well. I hope this is educational.. for those that have trouble interpreting maps and Ariel photos.

Lot of missing factors..prevailing wind, compass points.. pressure from public or private land.. personally with not enough in formation I would look at the bench saddle.at elevation 1440 to 1520 for most activity. If a high pressure area the small benched around 1600 ft on Right side of mountain in center of map.

I would wait on a leupold. Most guys at camp.have switched to them after borrowing one. Light gathering is top notch on dark a d dim targets
