They are around more die of old age then most realize.. after 2 years old the know how to evade hunters and cameras

1in bit .. drill 8 in or so deep and fill with fuel oil and burn them out.. Ammonium nitrate and and fuel oil in quart bags ..dig hole under and blast em out.... (may need a permit nys is wierd) -
Have a few smaller buck hanging on still but i guess 90% are shed already

Id just rent a mini excavator and drive to and dig em out

3 new scrapes in clover plot by my blind 32.. moved camera over them ..see what happens in week or so

Keep after the predators and look at creating nesting cover. Fortunately i have decent production here after dropping about 5 acres of aspen for food and cover.

Got my winter wheat planted today and top dressed the radish and turnip plots -
The fall take has a very high number of young birds in it . With the exception of those that feel they need a fall gobbler.. ypubg birds are most likely to die over winter. What needs to be done is control of predators and create and leave good nesting habitat. Those are biggest factors.

Saw my 1st hard horn of the year...was in cleveland by metropark.. big 10pt ran in front of train... wont belong now and they will be popping up on camera locally...
