  1. I got the greatest gift . I'm standing on the side of my favorite stream fishing . Did most of the Christmas stuff with family last night . Wife is working 12 hrs so I have the stream to myself and the day to relax and enjoy what God has given me.
  2. Agreed .. published data doesn't mean you start at max load. I always start in the middle and work up looking at accuracy and for signs of pressure flattened primers split cases tight extraction .
  3. Don't know anything about ariens snow blower. I bought a poulan 9 hp 28 or 30 inch cut in 94. Electric start . It's been a great machine. Change the oil every year. Non ethanol gas. I chose this because it had the biggest infeed throat. It walks right through snow drifts chews through snowplow banks. And tosses even heavy wet snow across a double wide driveway. It's the only snow blower I have owned. I have used yard machine and an old arens they work but nothing like my poulan. Other than change the oil, gas, soft tire , shear pins , I had to change a drive belt. When I started looking for a snowblower gramps told me doesn't matter how big a cut it takes or how big the engine, if it can't move the volume through it its useless. Most notable is when the snow gets taller than the machine. I have a kubota 2670 with fel now ..It only gets used when the snow gets over a foot anything less the poulan gets the nod.
  4. Reloading books are great. RCBS has a lot of videos on how to . That said it's kind of nice to have a mentor looking over your shoulder making sure you got it right. I'm from the group that you shouldn't deviate from published data. One should also develop good reloading habits some are found in books others through experience.
  5. Son of a gun ...55 . I will have to wait a few more years.
  6. Nope not one off . Truck runs better.than it has in a year. Transmission shifts so smooth you don't even notice unless your watching. Put about 200 miles on it since I got it back Friday night. Lead frame is chronic and widespread over multiple years. Happening most after 75 k. Some just go all at once and some take months of minor problems before they throw a code or worse. The tech that worked on mine said he is changing 1 or 2 a week and sometimes as much as 10 a month. No rhyme or reason. They had a 13 come in while mine was on the lift same problem . That guy has to wait for parts . I got the last one in stock.
  7. Crock pot barley soup .... must have recipe please
  8. My parents moved to Missouri about 6 years ago. Haven't had lasagna at Christmas since. Mother in law does a ham dinner with all the fixings. That said I will probably grill venison Christmas dinner. Kids are coming over Christmas. Eve. Wife has to work Christmas day 12 hrs. So with any luck I will be fishing all day . Come home and fix venison on the grill with some veggies... maybe I can get some asparagus to grill.... have it all done when she gets home from m work.
  9. Ok so the update. Truck at Ford garage for a week sitting in the parking lot. Had monster safety recalls they were working on .. had the loaner np. Finally ran diagnostic no codes. They called Ford. No code no fix. Tech and service manager agreed with me lead frame bad in transmission. Multiple test drives over 3 days they can't make it code. Call Ford engineers no reply for 2 days. Service manager orders replacement. He says "better to ask forgiveness than beg for permission ". 2 hour job . Picked it up last night. Hopefully problem is fixed. They had my truck 13 days which is better than the 3 weeks they originally quoted.
  10. Thanks for the info guys . Kind of rethinking 45/70. As far as brush and drive guns I have more than enough options with the shotguns I already have. Which brings me back to my original want . I think I will hold out and start looking for a 444 marlin after Christmas. I do know with my eyes what they are what ever model will have have to be scoped. Looked at a henry 44 mag yesterday brass . Think I would prefer Steele. I was surprised at the weight of it. Also looked at a new marlin in 44 . Longer barrel than henry. Fit and fin sucked. Apparently remington has a problem with quality control at all levels. Amazes me that they can't even checker a clean line any more. Thinking I will top what ever I get with a 4x scope. I have a couple different models floating around .
  11. As said wheel bearings will make noise long before play... most of the time . Spindle nut lose can be a cause. Upper and lower can be checked by jacking up a side and putting a long pry bar under tire and lifting . Watch for any play up or down . Turn wheel in and out to check for play on both directions of travel .
  12. Got hit pretty good up here last night. Daughter said they had hail in steuben. Not so much in Chemung county . Thunder and lighting for a while as temp really dropped in a hurry. Hope you have glass coverage. I keep it on all my vehicles. Learned that lesson after a rock from a dump truck and a little league baseball a month apartment .

  14. Recently upgraded to samsung s9. My moultry card reader with usb-c adapter plugged in . Phone doesn't reconize it not at all. Card reader is 2 years old and works on my old s7. Is there anybody.out there that can tell me if there's an setting that has to be turned on ?
