Honestly hunted with a bow for better than 35 years I do have an idea of what it takes to be proficient and kill deer ,pig ,turkey with a recurve bow ,compound as well as rifle, flintlock muzzloader,and handgun . It's been 3 years since a shoulder injury sidelined my archery season. 3 LONG YEARS ! Loved shooting bow with my kids and friends. Looked forward to coming home from work relaxing in the backyard slinging arrows. Loved getting into the woods early . It was my trophy season . Hunted bucks only. Got to target specific bucks before the rut changed patterns. I never wanted a crossbow. Never opposed them either. Best friends father was a paraplegic do to a spinal injury at an early age. He could have benafited from a crossbow. Could have hunted in warmer weather . Just couldn't understand the selfishness of other people. Only difference I can see is you don't have to hold the draw. I find shooting a crossbow to be challenging to hold on target clarence of limbs in the horizontal is new. Carrying the darn thing through the woods is awkward. Selfish people pushing their own agenda and politicians using inclusion as a bullet in their political arsenal is going to drag this out for ever. Only way to change.this is to get a law passed that puts decisions for hunting issues in the hands of the dec with a sportsman oversight committee .

Swift optics. 3x9x40. Great price. I bought one years ago think I gave 120 bucks new. Leupold was outside my budget. Lifetime warranty. Great glass for the price . Had that scope on 2 different muzzloaders 12 guage 37 Ithaca and finally encore 270. Week before season opener while checking zero it went blurry. Called them on Monday told the woman I didn't have box warranty or receipt. And the scope was over 20 years old. Woman on the phone apologized for my inconvenience offered to send me a new scope overnight no charge just ship old one back with the lable shipped in new box at my convenience. Next day new scope was waiting on the doorstep. Brand new not a refurbished. Now I know it's not a leupold or a zeiss but it's not junk. I dare say unless I told you you couldn't tell it's not a vx 1 or 2. I think they can be picked up from opticsplanet.

Mixed results with squirrel calls. Probably work about 30 percent of the time. I have the same call and another.distress call. I still scrape the edges of 2 quarters together and I think it works just as well.

I would take my chance in court. An honest judge is going to look at merit of reporting late rather than not reporting. I would make the officer look like a money grubbing douche with no heart. A mistake is just that. Honestly l understand it's a tool to try to manage the deer herd. But I personally think it's an over reach to fine on first defined offence rather.than a written and documented warning.

I didn't report for years because I would forget. Then I would remember after the fact . After my neighbors incident I report in 24 hours or so. I do it on the phone. System can be a pain when using some of the town names. The way the local town names are pronounced verses their voice recognition.

Neighbor shot a deer opening day dropped it off for processing. Hopped a plane for anniversary trip next day . Brother picked up meat . Guy gets home doesn't think a thing about . A few months later dec is knocking at the door. Tells him he is subject to a fine for not reporting. Let him report late . They do check I. Guess if they want to they can come after you.

Killed a ton of rabbits squirrels a pheasant or two with a wrist rocket as a kid. Gramps being a mechanic in a Ford garage had everybody saving me ball bearings . He use to bring home coffee cans full every couple weeks...

Shot my first deer sitting with my gramps at 10. Filled his tag. Ny is so behind the times. I don't need a politician telling me how old a kid should be to hunt or how to best raise my family. If a village raises the child you have a village full of idiots.
