Fletch
Ok this was a buck me and my buddy have several pics of from last season. We had some debate on how big he would go as a typical 8. My buddy did not belive me on how big he would go. Any ideas?? Mike127
Not sure why i can't upload pics upright but heres the scoop. 1st pic i passed him multiple times during 2010 season, never found his sheds. 2nd pic was captured about 1.5 miles from where i shot him. When i shot him i made a less than perfect shot, only single lung. he ran about 400 yards so i backed out and retrieved him the next morning. due to poor blood and the long distance i wasn't really sure of his path when he broke his rack. spent weeks looking for the antler with rakes and a few buddies no luck. The measurements of what i believe to be his slightly smaller side based on the pics i do have of him are. 23 7/8 MB 8 6/8 G1 10 2/8 G2 8 3/8 G3 4 6/8 H1 4 2/8 H2 4 0/8 H3 3 1/8 H4 His left G1 is 8 7/8 and i gave him a 22" inside spread but i think he was probably slightly better. Totaling out to 156 7/8 IF DOUBLED.

sampotter
The 20" are in there! You gave him a score of 154 Popit. I get 152 in my estimate. Follow the math: G1s 10 x 2= 20 (agree) G2s 10 x 2= 20 (i say they are 11) G3s 6 x 2= 12 (agree) MBs 23 x 2 = 46 (agree) Mass 36 (32 for me because he is an 8 Spread 20 (sure, why not) Add it up... Those brows are a game changer. That buck is about as good as it gets for a NY 8. I was struck by how much he reminds me of the buck in my avatar. He would have been right at 150 if was an 8. Not bad if I don't say so myself.... I'd forgotten what I had posted but I'm glad to see I didn't embarrass myself, although it looks like Popit was even closer! P.S. If this is indeed the same deer it makes for a pretty cool follow-up Mike127! Edited September 11, 2014 by sampotter

Geno C
I said mid 150s and I was right there... 8 points can get big and score that high. There are many shot each year no one even bothers to add in the books. They exist

Mike127
Absolutely right Geno I've got 6 that make the books including another 8 that is in the 150's and none of them are entered nor will i probably ever enter any. This one comes in at 153 5/
