ADK Native
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/democrats-introduce-bill-requiring-term-limits-for-us-supreme-court-justices/ar-AA101CwQ?ocid=SL5GDHP&pc=SL5G&cvid=cb06ef7d45e3442bbe93ff1003f72dda The article states “The Supreme Court Tenure Establishment and Retirement Modernization Act (Term), would establish 18-year terms for Supreme Court justices and establish a process for the president to appoint a new justice every two years. After an 18-year term, justices would be retired from active judicial service.” Why are not the Democrats including term limits for members of congress? Term limits are their idea. They should embrace the ole cliché “LEAD BY EXAMPLE”. The article states “Confidence in the supreme court is at a record low. Just 25% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in the court, according to a June Gallup poll.” So the remaining 75% have no confidence in the supreme court because the SCOTUS recognizes “the right to bear arms shall not be infringed” and that BABY KILLING is wrong? The article states “Elena Kagan, appointed to the court by Barack Obama, said last week that if the court “loses all connection with the public and with public sentiment, that’s a dangerous thing for a democracy”. “Loses all connection?” What about the lost connection with the Constitution the liberal justices are suffering from? 3
left field
This is good. Start with the SC. Bring them in mid-40s to mid-50s and cut them loose after 18 years. Then go after congress.
AuburnNYC
Let's start with max terms on house and senate then start worrying about the SCOTUS.

Their house of cards will soon be crumbling down.

It's an easier change and one that could achieve bipartisan support. Go after the bigger fish once precedent has been set. We know how much this court loves precedence. Grouse
Precedent? We already have term limits for the President. There is no bigger fish. The big difference between Supreme Court Justices and politicians is, they are appointed, not elected. They are supposed to be the most qualified individual legal mind in the country when they're appointed. As long as they prove that is the case, they should never be removed from the Court. If they prove to be an activist that disregards the Constitution and the Rule of Law, they should be impeached! There is no need to limit their terms if they uphold their oaths.

It's not Bipartisan, if one side takes all the time and craps on the other side afterwards, which has been the tactic the Dems have been using and the RINO'S keep falling for, for decades. No one had an issue with the Supreme court when it wasn't following the Constitution. Now that the court is doing it's job and following the Constitution, it's in the Dems sights and needs to be taught a lesson. The tolerant liberals protesting and harassing (illegally) supreme court judges is a brilliant strategy and I hope they keep it up till November.

I can agree with this but feel there should be age limits for ALL elected political positions. There are too many young people in government with no life experience and who have no idea what their constituents deal with day-to-day trying to eke out a living. Equally, there are too many geriatrics in power who have no clue of the modern world and are out of touch with their constituents. This is true for both Dems and Reps. And these people are in those positions because we have an idiot electorate that votes to put them in power. They have the power to limit their terms.
