20 gauge 2 3/4

anybody use 20 gauge 2 3/4 cartridges when they turkey hunt.  If so, what do you use. I cant find turkey loads anywhere.  Ive used hevi shot before but I feel like the other major brands have to have something out there..

#6 high brass, killed most of my birds with that load with a fixed mod choke.

6 or. 5 high brass . Just keep shots to 25yds and closer.

Use buffered, copper plated 2 3/4" magnum loads such as Winchester XX or Federal Premium...

With the reduced pellet count ,chances are #6 shot will give you the best coverage. Use the tightest choke you have..Pattern your gun to determine your maximum range..

depends on what you've got... for a basic fixed modified choke 20ga Federal Heavyweight Flight Control Works well.  In my Mossberg 500 20ga, Remington Wingmaster HD always shot and worked well.

I like the weight of my 20 on my 2 mile walk in. The Federals shot the best out of my Remington, but effective only at 20 yards. Little disappointed with the outcome, then again maybe asking for to much.

Still in search of a shell effective at 30 yd..

I just bought my daughter a 20 mossberg 500.I use a Primos Jellyhead for my 12 and that is a awesome choke but they don't make it for the 20 mossberg.What are you guys running for a choke in your 20's?

I went to a 20 ga for turkey last year using my old Rem 11-48.  The load I found to work well is Federal Premium #4 Copper-Plated 1350 FPS.  I knocked one dead at 25 yards.

Find the right loads and pattern the gun at various distances...  You will quickly get a sense for the effective range and where the pattern is hitting.   it can be a very effective weapon if you know it and understand the effective capabilities of it.
