Grateful for the 2nd Amendment

Recommended Posts

And there are a lot of people out there who will argue that this man should have slammed the door in the scum bags face and then called 911.  Fantasy Land.

Yeah , when the Thugs are seconds from coming in your front door , the police are only minutes away !

You didn't watch the whole video did you?

you didn't read my post did you? key word "at first".

Why on earth should we be constantly struggling against our own government to defend our right to self defense? It's ridiculous.

unfortunately for every case like this there's a school shooting. If, and that's the key word. If I could be assured the government wouldn't go to far, i'd gladly support better and more rigorous background and mental health checks. It would not rid the world of nut jobs getting guns, but I believe it would help. Restricting and limiting mags and firearm types wont help anything and these checks and balances still do nothing to protect us from criminals... who don't care about the laws. Legislation just is and always will be a political tool used by politicians to gain votes.

Citizens - We have a problem, please fix it

Politicians - Look at this law I made (who cares if it worked, it'll go on my campaign adds)

Sheep Citizens - Oh look, he put out a law to fix our problem, I'll vote for him

The statement he made that I think shows that even the background checks will do very little if anything, was about never in his career having to take a gun off a criminal that was registered to the criminal. In MD all pistols are registered, much like NY.

This is the typical exaggerated kinds of untrue statements that feed the campaigns of the antis and eventually win over some fence-sitters who really don't know any better.

The only one who protect you and yours, is you! He did what we all say we would do if in that position and my hats off to this gentlemen for handling that threat. It's like he said, these politicians are so out of touch with people and the reality is we live in a world where the government is trying to disarm the public. Their goal is not for protection, if it is it's for their own!

Did not intend it to be a factual statement, more along the lines of what the media reports and what Americans believe.

I agree with him 100%!

"These politicians that are out of touch with people.  :  I have been in law enforcement for 42 years now and I can tell you I never took a gun off a criminal where it was registered to the criminal.  The Second Amendment is something the government can not take away from us it's in the Constitution.  It was put their for a reason."

However, between the leftist legislators, and the Supreme Court, they have found ways around that amendment and other ways to effectively neuter the protections of the 2nd Amendment. We have a shining example of that right here in our own state that is called The Safe Act.

The Constitution was put in place by people.  I can be removed by people...if we're not careful.  Don't make the mistake of thinking it is indestructible.

you're so out of touch with reality up in your cabin in the mountains it's laughable. Keep "fighting the war" with ignorance and you'll continue to lose.
i actualky live in a house in a town. My cabin is where i go to escape people like you. And that is a scientific fact

What we really need is a working mans politician instead of all these rich out of touch idiots.

I understand what you are saying, but I don't really believe that a person's ability to lead is determined by their paycheck. But whether it is or not, the reality is that the election system makes it absolutely impossible for a candidate of low income to be elected. The days of Lincoln are way behind us. Today it is the very expensive TV sound-bite that rules the election. Campaigns are so expensive that it drives honest candidates to sell their souls to get cash enough to survive. By the time the election rolls around, each candidate has encountered enough graft and corruption and promised so much favoritism  and buy-offs, that they can't have a decent honest thought anymore. They really are not out-of-touch, they simply cannot keep their position without totally ignoring those that cannot do something financial for them. That's the ugly part of the system, and I have no idea what it would take to keep our Constitution and still clean up the election system.

I did not realize that cabins were a competition.  But if you feel better winning go forth.  BTW mine is off the grid also.  Which has nothing to do with your original attempt to throw another dig.  Like I said I go there to avoid a lot of different people.  It seems to me you sure assume a lot about me and how I live my life.  (which by the way is none of your business)  .  I did not know I was on your mind so much.   Kind of wondering about that now too.
