Where'd he go?

Too many hunters lose sight of their bucks before they can get a clean shot. What would you do if you saw a buck just long enough to tell he was a shooter?

2. Play a tune on the grunt tube.

3. Start shooting.

I got charged last time i took that approach. What do you guys think is the best way to draw them back in?

If he saw you, or knows you're there, unless you have a Starship tractor beam, he ain't coming back no matter what.

Best thing would be maybe move your stand location the following day and hope to run into him again. Like VJP said he won't come back.

let's say he doesn't see me, or he is busy trailing a doe, or on the way to the food plot. What can i do to get em close enough for a shot?

anything and eveything you got.  Try grunting.  If that dont work try the can.  If that dont work snort wheeze.  If that dont work hit the horns.  Give it hell u got nothing to lose at that point.

Grunt.  Hope he wanders past the claymores.  If all else fails, call in the air strike.

Grunt #1 option as far as I'm concerned. I have grunted two decent bucks in my short career - one was trailing a lady and the other was alone. This was during the rut so depending on the year it may be different choice.

I am certainly not one to ask since I failed terribly every time this year so far when a shooter was in sight but not range

I don't think you can change the deer.  I think you need to move.  If you find the deer was on a trail, or in an area he is often in, move your stand closer for the next hunt.  You can't get a deer to go anywhere he doesn't want, or need, to go.

I would agree. You have nothing to lose, try whatever you can. I have had some success with a grunt tube in the past. But like said in an earlier post, move your stand if you feel the need to. I would say that you have an advantage if he didnt spot you or wind you so he isnt spooked from the area. But most of us can agree, the buck just never comes out from where you want him to, or usually comes from behind you. haha

Ya me I'm going over there with me climber next time. Worked this year in bow . The only call I cary is the can. But he'll lock right in on your tree . Which is why i prefer not to alert him . Most times.......
