Mr VJP
I like to have as little in my belly as possible when I hunt. Makes it easier to hike. I breath better and it seems to keep the blood pressure down too. I even sweat less. I notice these things as I get older. I'm looking to find every advantage I can while hunting these days. Maybe ancient instincts make a hungry hunter, a better hunter too!

mossy725
I hunt on an empty stomach for a different reason. So that I don't have to pull up a tree! ??? Seriously though, I stay bland and simple. Keeps me regulated, and in the woods longer.
Caveman
I never hunt on an empty stomach. I'm scared the deer will hear my stomach growling and think it's a bear lol. No really though, if I don't get a nice big breakfast, some eggs, hash, homefries and some toast...I'm useless What really sucks though is when you overdo it and your big breakfast puts you to sleep in the stand! WNYBuckHunter
I eat just enough to settle my stomach, but not enough to cause me to have to empty my tank so to speak. I usually have a cup or two of coffee and a yogurt or small bowl of cereal. I take a bottle of juice or cider with me and a granola bar or apple. For all day sits I take a sandwich and some munchies as well.

Bleitten04
An empty stomach will get me out of my tree faster then not seeing any deer!!!! I don't like overdueing it though because then I will have to go back for a while ??? ??? !!
fasteddie
I usually get up at 3 am to get ready to drive to a hunting spot . I am chowing down on the oatmeal by 3:15 . Around 7:30 am my stomach is growling and I bet the deer can hear it ! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/tears27.gif[/img]
Isles323
I bring nutella on potato bread. I like to make 4 half sandwiches so i can spread them out over time. Running out of food makes me sad. And you can't forget the sunflower seeds. (shells in a plastic bottle
bushnell
I have to eat something other wise I will get sick to my stomach. I usually have a bowl of serial and maybe something else. But I always have plenty of food in the backpack since we sit all day long.
Mr VJP
I'll snack a little on cookies or a sandwich if I get real hungry, or my stomach growls. But the less I have in me, the better I can hunt, especially if I'm not sitting on stand. I do carry about a quart of water with me though. Pygmy
I do the instant oatmeal thing...It gets a little something in my stomach without ( hopefully) triggering the urges that always come after a REAL breakfast of eggs, bacon, ham or whatever... In ANY case, when I go to the woods.... My toilet paper is like American Express... I don't leave home without it....
Paulie
I don't eat breakfast to begin with so its a cup of coffee for me and I bring a bottle of water. When I start getting hungry I have some water. I normally last till noon with that.
NYDeer
Not empty, just a little 'snack' to keep the hunger pangs away.. I usually snack on oat/choclate bars, deer jerky, and whatever else I can find small.. I tote puddings, cocoa, soup & buttered rolls for lunches on stand.
