aahhh changing my mind in lighter pic I see blk tipped ear and what I thought was a long body now looks like it just has it's tail raised...

 

Bob's do not have much of a tail...but this looks like a bobcat.

Mountain Lions have black tips on the back of their ears as well so it really doesn't make a difference. I mean as much as we all want to say this is not a mountain lion, this really does look like a mountain lion. The head is too round and its too long of a body for a bobcat.

I think it looks a hell of a lot like a mountain lion, we both think that's impossible so it may be a bobcat??

I'm gonna start by saying that we all know a mountain lion in NY is not impossible. I'm guessing by the face that it's a bobcat.

I'm just wondering when the pic was captured and what the heck is in the background? Is your buddy expecting deer to waltz into the barn or is it for security?

too bad he didn't get the legs and stomach in it, that would be helpful.  to me it looks like a Mountain Lion too, just cant tell how tall it is or the tail because its cut off.  how close to the camera was it?
