I'm no expert on deer behavior, but are four point bucks supposed to be mounting eight point bucks?

I have seen this a couple times around our area over the years where hunters have shot what they though was a buck, until they went to gut the deer only to find out it did not have the correct parts down there.

Ive never seen that but have heard of it.  A buck will mount another buck to show who's dominant.  I'm not an expert on the topic but I think there would usually be a hot doe around they would be fighting for.  Also I would think it would be the other way around with the 8 on top.

I think the eight might have been "surprised" a bit because the next three pictures on the trail cam is him taking the young buck to school.  A couple of antler strikes and a bite.

by my uncles place in PA we have seen a 4pt and a 6pt do what looks to be like kissing. they go nose to nose and lick eachother, then they stand side by side and lick eachothers back leg. i found it very weird. i personally have seen these two bucks do this many times and none of the times did it look like they were about to fight. very strange. would love to know the reasoning behind this.

I have seen cows in heat mount other cows. There wasn't a bull around. This is a new one to me but I have seen it in other animals like dogs. There has to be some social reason that has evolved.
