Huntswithstone
Hi all i've taken a few bears the last one about 15 years ago. In that time I've passed up some 20 bear waiting on a real big one with the white V chest. Well on 11/9/14 i did almost that no white chest! Killed with a hybread arrow ( modern with Flint point ) a 142 grain side notch broke a rib in half on its way into the heart. 75 yds. Later I watched him take his last step. Dressed out at 550 lbs. and should place in the top three archery all time NY archery bears. How do you post pic's ? Just could not get my accuracy back after shoulder surgery last year hopefully next year it will be all primitive hunting for me.

landtracdeerhunter
Congrats on that big bruiser! Can you give a little more detail on the broadhead mounting on a modern arrow?
dbHunterNY
Hey any broad head will work and they've been downing game the longest. Must have to weigh each? Then practice with same weight 2 blade? Definitely a different endeavor. I'd still like to get out my recurve and stuff. It's like throwing a ball you've got to keep practicing or you get rusty
dbHunterNY
On a separate note that's a huge bear for anywhere with anything. Congrats!!

Huntswithstone
The arrowhead was halfted to a screw in adapter for old-style glue on broadheads
