Robinson446
any of you hear about the 18 pound deer some Jersey people shot in NY? it was their first time out. ONe guy shot the 18 pound deer. and another guy shot a german shepard that they thought was a deer. HOW THE HELL DO YOU MISTAKE A DOG FOR A DEER? AND HOW DO YOU EVEN GET A 18 POUND DEER? CAN YOU SAY, SHOT WHILE BEING BORN? guys if you dont know the differance between a deer and a dog. dont hunt. Make the woods safer for hunters and stay out of them. i mean dang, how do you shoot a dog and a 18 pound deer? BTW, the guy that shot the dog was arrested on the spot at the weigh in station. the blur
I'll tell you, we hear about it all the time, but I was out in the woods this past weekend, there is no mistaking a deer for anything else. I saw a deer 50 yards away. It was clear as day what it was. Especially when the white tail went up, and he ran away. I saw some orange thing meandering through the woods. real far away through thick cover. Obviously not a deer; although I couldn't see him fully. My most spookiest thing was a guy in full camo walking across our private property about 200 yards out. My first concern was that I would get shot, So I let him continue to walk without disturbing him. Obviously not a deer. I hate to say it, but some people should not own a firearm of any type. If you don't know what your shooting at, a little common sense goes a long way.
Larry
Unless there is some kind of news story out there. I think someone is giving you a bunch of whohee. And if there is 18lb deer out there get out the butter knife it is sure is going to be tender.
fasteddie
Sounds like someone may have given you a BS story RobinHood .... An 18 pound deer has to be pretty tiny like a new born fawn . Someone shot a dog that was being walked on a leash in Casey Park in Ontario , NY . There is someone who runs an ad in the local paper and Penny saver for a reward to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot their dog about 10 years ago . These were both good sized dogs . cprsailor
Maybe this guy only got 18 lbs of venison off his deer. That would make it a small deer but much more believable than a total weight of 18lbs. According to my processor, you typically get about 40% of the total weight in venison. That would make the deer around 45-50 pounds. Just a guess...
