Yes. Lake Gilead. I'm sure I said it somewhere in my thread. I'm not one of those guys who lies about what reservoir I catch fish in lol.

1st set nothing. Super windy foggy and a little rain.







Checked the acorn area where my ground blind is. No sign of the 8pt in the last 8 days, but this new guy came thru. Assuming that's his ear not a brow point, he's a wide 4. I'd take him with xbow but not shotgun.

The day took a turn for the worse. When I got back to my parents house with my dad after hunting, there was white foamlike throwup everywhere from their 12 year old German Shepherd who has had several health issues the last year or so. My Dad took him to the Vet and he will be put down after my Mom gets there from work to say final goodbye.

Yea. I wasn't really close to him since I haven't lived home in like 9-10 years, but feel bad for my parents. He was a great dog.

First impression makes me think it's the big 4pt, but maybe it is the 8pt and the rest is blurry because he's moving? Regardless, this guy is in the area and alive with 1 day left before xbow opener.

Anything 4pt or better I'll take with xbow.
6pt or better I'll take with shotgun.
Only exception would be something nontypical/wacky.

I shot a handful of small bucks years ago (spikes, 3s, 4s). Starting in 2013 I started holding out for a 6pt or better wit gun. But like I said, with the xbow I'd take a 4pt for my first xbow deer.
