Culvercreek hunt club
and yet so many complaing about the age of nys bucks threres not enough older bucks in ny but there is enough to take 3 or more in one season puzzling well I don't know about the other WMU's but hte 8C is an archery only area and there are monsters wandering around in there. It is very residential for a lot of it and there are tons of areas that are too small to get proper distance to dwellings...but big enough to allow for them to mature. A lot of the area is poke one and hope it doesn't run out and fall on a kid on the swing set in their back yard type hunting.
Doewhacker
If that was my yard it happened in there would be a hell of a comotion when the kids found it on their swing set... like when my son shot a chipmunk with his bow last fall. haha I know he would stick one of his arrows in it and claim it for his own! Oh and my Daughter would be trying to ride it like a pony, or poking it with a stick saying she peek a booed it, I know we are a crazy bowhunter family. This is what happens when we get one. hahaha

G-Man
Anyone know any statistics on how many people actually take 2 buck a year?(not bonus dmp's just regular tags) I've seen the archery sucess rate is about 16% but that is for all deer. So i know a lot of people want ny to reduce to 1 buck any method, i just don't see 2 buck as being a huge problem.... jmo

G-Man
so a few thousand each year not really a big problem hurting the buck population then is it.....at least not as big as it would be if more people started killing more deer.... and reporting them. Culvercreek hunt club
I could bow hunt right out the window and over the fence....but I don't....I think their security does though...funny how the biggest ones start to disappear as the season starts. Geno C
^^ heard of that also... not legal but its still a valid tag being punched its not an extra or special tag per say...

I often wonder how many "wives" take a buck to get a buck and then the old man's tag is used if a good one comes by. I can remember when I first started deer hunting, some 30 years ago. The DMP application needed 2-4 hunters per party permit. At that time we had my mother get her license just so we could use her DMP stub on the application just to try and get a party permit. We never used her license to actually fill a tag in her name. It was worth spending, I believe back then, the $8 for her big game license just for the party permit. G-Man
I remember the party permits i seem to remember when they did away with that the number of licences fell as well...
