Next to your vehicle or an ATV path....

Isn't this an annual topic for DDH TV? Saw a similar one years ago, but they went into the angle of the shot more in depth. Had all different hunting scenarios of angled shots. Not just broadside shots, but quartering away, quartering to, steep downward shots, etc. That's when you really need a good handle on where the vitals are & your arrows path upon entering the deer!

I like to shoot them in the woods. They get really angry when you kill one at the zoo.

 

I will always look for a right behind the shoulder. Would never take a Q-To shot with a bow from the ground.

Always going for the lungs. I don't even like quartering away,too much room for error.

Hope to have to self control to stick to that...

Quartering away, most room for error.  Deer is usually at ease because already walking away.  Can draw a little easier without be detected.

Damn scapula! Got me last year. Great video! But it definitely opened a wound that hasn't healed yet. Lol! I hope I see that buck this year.

If you have trouble figuring out the position of the shoulder blade, you can use your dog move his front leg to different positions and see how much of the shoulder protects the vitals. Not the same but close

Shoot for the lungs with just the small rib bones protecting them its your best bow-shot and biggest target.  I never take a quartering to shot either.
