Injured buck

This big fella was limping pretty bad due to an injury on his lower right rear leg.  He dropped an antler this weekend, perhaps from the stress of the injury.  I hope he survives the winter.

the rut and hunt season is sure tough on them.  But they are just as tough.  Hope you see him next year !

No Doubt he dropped early because of the injury. Hope he makes it thru the injury. Get out there and find those jewels off his head, I would bet they will be pretty close in that area.

Yep- just wondering if that one fell off before or after any of the rear antlers,lol

That’s a shame. Wouldn’t be surprised if he grows an odd rack next season if he survives

Shot one a few yrs ago that had 2 broken back legs at one time. Both were healed  over and he just had a long spike and 2 points on one side and 5 on the other.
