At the drive-in......

Reviews are mixed on both. She'd never heard of Slender Man, I am OK waiting for it to hit Hulu or Shudder.
Only horror flick I'm interested in seeing on a big screen is the remake of Suspiria. Big time Argento fan here, and the remake looks like it will be one of the few that are good.

Are there any left  ??   I listened to a lot of films at a couple of local drive in movies  when I was a young buck....
We have two near us. One is 5 minutes north, the other has 4 screens and 15 minutes south.

I was at the drive in in Lockport this summer and before the movie the flash on the screen there is only 348 drive in theaters left in the United States. And the drive inn places only source of income is admission and food. The movie companies don’t give them anything like they do with regular theater

Got some good memories of going to the Jericho!

Been going there since I was a little guy.

Best memories came when I was a bit older in my 67 Comet. hehehe.

Enjoy the show with the Mrs. Great night for a drive in! :good:

When I was a little tyke, my Mom used to throw me and my sister in the bathtub on Saturday night and then the family would go to the Corning Drive Inn....Sister and I would already be in our pajamas...I would usually be asleep  by halfway through the first movie, but I remember seeing a few classic films there for the first time, Like " She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" and " Bridge on the River Kwai"..

My FAVORITE memories, however  are of my late teen years, mostly in my 1957 Ford F 100... Those bench seats were VERY functional.....<< SMILE>>….

Among my favorites was the Mad Max Thunderdome series. I'm still not sure if I ever saw one of those movies.

My favorite was " Mad Max at Thunderbone"  but I had to watch that on my couch at home  via an 8 track tape....Hehehe...

Some classics I remember from the drive in.

The Graduate

Mash

Walking Tall

The Billy Jack movies

Psycho

Jaws

A bunch of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies

Vanishing Point

Friday The 13th......the first one

Aloha, Bobbie and Rose.......killer Elton John soundtrack from 75

Intermission cartoons were so cool too.

Texas chainsaw massacre would be epic at the drive in ,the original or the remake.

There hasn't been a good TCM since the first one. I have not seen the latest incarnation, and to be honest I don't want to. They ruined that franchise.

I agree with the income part, but I do not agree with movie companies not giving them the movies. Both of the drive-ins near me get new movies all Summer long. All current movies and in theaters at that time. Must be a WNY issue why you don't.

I remember lots of good times at the Transit drive in.  The first movie I saw there, with mom and dad and brother and sisters, was Butch Cassidy.  My first date with the wife also happened there (some German U-boat movie).  I forgot the number but my attention was not on the screen that night.

We usually hit it a few times each summer with the kids.  It is cheaper than taking them to the theater, and a cooler with some beers is always nice, especially on the animated films which I don't particularly care for.  The concession stand food (money maker) is not too bad.   The best part is usually watching the cavalcade of local characters goofing around on the put-put golf course and rides before the movie starts, or watching the workers (or the owner on his Segway) arguing with customers about how their vehicles are parked.

I’m not sure Rob and I could be wrong on the exact verbiage. But something on the screen said they either have to pay for the movie or they weren’t being paid by the movie companies not sure exactly but glad to see them still around. I just can never stay for two movies before I fall asleep
