He still has some growing to do!!You can see the tips are still a little black and still have a ball look to them. If you see a buck now with no brows,He wont have any this year!!

the first two pics are of a bigger buck. the smal basket let me walk right up to him. there were 12 bucks in the field that night.

What do you think, 2 years olds? They have some nice potential in a few years. Always nice to see velvet buck pics.

they have till about the 1st week in august then they will harden, might pick up a few more inches...

Yea i would agree probbaly about 2 weeks of growing left but they shouldnt really get much bigger than they are now.  Nice looking bucks.

each deer can vary in their growing process... some can have another 2 -3 weeks or so and some can harden up as early as beginning of August.

Brows and the main beam are the first things to grow from the bases, if he doesnt have them now, he wont this year.

never said he had brows or he didn't, or that there was still time to grow them.

I simply stated that from the angle of the head in the picture that it was impossible for me to be sure if he had them or not.

Got pics of a great buck last summer from Aug. 1st right through the end of August. I eagerly watched thinking that antlers grew until they shed the velvet. I don't think he grew "at all" the whole month of Aug. He disappeared before shedding the velvet and I never saw him again until late October. I don't think he grew at all after Aug 1st, when I first started getting pics of him!

I later learned that once the tips lose their bulbous appearance, they no longer grow and are in the hardening stage.

That's my experience too.

What rack they have by the end of July is what they are less the velvet!
