11/2: hunted with xbow with dad on his land. 29 degrees and barely any wind. Sent him to lower end of property and I went to the acorn flat blind. Cam showed a 8pt on 10/30 and a spike with a 4pt. I g

11/25/19: while I was at work dad hunted. He seen 5 deer together at 9:45am. Looked like a few ran down towards the stream about 125 plus yds. The closest one was about 75 yards and was a 3 pt. that

Checked cams and put new batteries in today.
Tons of deer pics but no racks. Got 1 with nubs tho. Time off by 1 hour. So I’ll post other critters

7/12/19: only could check 2 cams because the greens were so high. Need to go back with atv. Brought truck for first. Got at least 4 different, maybe 5 bucks on cam. Of course the biggest (red circle) I think isn’t a great pic. First year not putting throw & grow down in the spring and definitely less pics than I’m used to.

8/4/19: checked cams, cut trails with atv. Got a few small bucks and a nice 6pt and nice 8pt traveling together. In 6pt pic look far left and you’ll see 8pt. Also got my first ever bear pic! 0 bears shot in 3N last year I believe. Only a cub it appears but still cool!

Also cleared some spots for throw & grow and shot the Mathews for first time in like 11 months.

10 shots at 25yds
3 shots at 35yds
3 shots at 20yds

All by feel, left sight at 25yds. Better than expected to be honest. No issues drawing bow

8/11/19: scouted a piece of state land today that I have never hunted nor ever walked on. Did 2.3 miles and saw very little deer sign but I saw 13 deer! Got some great videos of Bucks that I snuck up on. 8pt and spike pics attached (freeze frame of videos).

I’ll give you a hint. It’s north of the Bronx and South of Rhineback. It’s east of the Hudson River!

 

And it may or may not have antler restrictions. Remember some Public hunting lands have their own rules regardless of unit number.

 

It’s NOT Lockwood DEP land. I haven’t been there in a few years. This was new land to me. Never stepped foot on before by me.

But now do I hunt public land opening day, 10/1? Show up and can’t find a spot because there are 8 other hunters? Or stick with private land?

You are Probably going to hunt the  private first  unless it is really far away  .

Why wouldn't you ?
