Paula
Oh i had never seen it. It would be great to see it! Would any of you shoot it? tell anyone you seen it and take the chance of someone else going in for it?
Karpteach
Native Americans have/had all albino animals as sacred. I wonder what they would say about a black animal which is rarer?

The Native Americans probably wouldn't let it in any of their Casinos ! : ..... ???
Karpteach
I think the Native Americans of today would have them as the dinner specials in their casino.
the blur
I wouldn't shoot that. too special. and I wouldn't shoot a pie bald or albino either. I'd rather see them run free, and possibly increase the rarer population.
WNYBuckHunter
Id shoot it, just like an albino or piebald. They probably taste just like any other deer, delicious. If you have an idea on how genetics works, youd realize that all deer carry the genes for such anomalies, they are just recessive genes and the traits dont show up as often as dominant ones do. the blur
You would shoot it, and probably wound it with a gut shoot , and it would die a slow painful death. me personally, I'd rather see them running around than on my dinner table. But Id spend days tracking it till I found it, and it would be served up with gravy and mashed potatoes.
upstaterifle
That's amazing! Will it stay black when it grows up?
Slugger09
I wouldn't mind a black buck with about 10 points sticking out of it
nyantler
Correction... Richard M.Buquoi is the photographer... it is a Melanistic Deer... cause by the production of too much melanin ... the opposite of an albino which is lacking melanin.. see more of Richards pics here http://rmbuquoiphoto.photoshelter.com/gallery-image/Land-Mammals/G0000TFzI4B5LV_k/I0000rq7L1a8ozuI
