left field
Not having a lot of luck but I have tomorrow and Thursday morning. I have 25 acres top and bottom of a ridge. Heavy woods. The deer tend to travel down to my water or water below me. Two stands on the ridge and a ground blind on the lower part. I also have access to three stands below me - gentle slope down to swampy area and one good plot. I haven’t seen a thing this week. I’m also very novice, so my skills aren’t great in reading land. I was busted a few times in early October. Where would you hunt tomorrow? Top ridge in stands? Bottom land in stands? Time of day? Thanks. Engraver99
Always liked swamps myself. If there is a pinch point leading to the swamp i'd be there.
mowin
Feeding and bedding. Find those and set up between them. Always liked swamps myself. Killed a lot a bucks in them. Bitch getting em out of there, but worth it.
left field
Thanks. The lower property is on the travel route to the swamp where I don’t have permission but I guess I could set up along the way.

left field
Don’t think they’re bedding on my property. I do have movement all year from high to low in the morning.
grampy
High in the morning. Low in the afternoon. You got any oaks on that side hill? If so, a bench or flat spot about three quarters of the way up, would be perfect. Good luck.
left field
There is a bench at the 3/4 point but no oaks. Every year prior to this there have been scrapes on that spot. Hmmm...

Good luck. grampy,i read that before about high in the a.m. Seems to me the opposite would be true with the coldest part of the day being around sunrise and falling thermals. Why is it the opposite? left field
Well, I tried low for a few hours then went high and busted three deer under my stand. The next day, I started high at that stand and nothing. If I have a chance again I may just try some public land as I think I'm screwing my place up by walking all over it. Hunter007
Well since the deer seem to not be showing up near your stands and the right time why not Hunt with the wind in the right direction and try some still hunting on your property.
