dbHunterNY
history whether it be trail cam photos, sheds, or sightings each season is a piece of the puzzle and helps. compare that with tooth wear method and CA results. in the end they should all indicate an age that's pretty close or could be in agreement. We're guessing he was between 3.5-5.5. I never liked the visual molar wear, it's too generic and frankly too easy to twist an extra year up or down. Just wondering if anyone here has used cementum annuli aging before and how accurate you thought it was? I have no history with my buck so... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk This was my first time using deer age. I Just got the results back from this years buck. Anyone wanna guess age before I post the results... Doesn’t look like much wear but I’m no expert.

MrGroundhog
He was aged at 4.5. i was pretty sure he was 3.5, with the slight possibility of being 4.5.
BizCT
He was aged at 4.5. i was pretty sure he was 3.5, with the slight possibility of being 4.5. Not every deer killed on this forum can be 1.5 to 3.5, there are more 4.5’s than we think. Based on my hunting land neighbor’s prior years pics, this buck was 4.5 at the time of the photo. His rack isn’t anything special, so most people on this forum would say he’s a 2.5Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
johnplav
You’re probably right Biz... I just assume any buck dumb enough to be killed by me can’t be more than 2.5 years old. 1

johnplav
Pretty much... I hunt a tiny parcel between corn and apples. They cut the corn in the fall but don’t plow it under until spring before planting.

BizCT
Any pics to post from previous years? Not if this buck because it was shown to me in person the prior years. But I do have an 8pt with a weak left side G3 with 3 years of pics. Not sure if he ever cracked 100”.
