How many of you hang treestands or ladderstands and never choose to sit in that particular stand?

i did that last year and i'll never do it again. set a stand up and hardly hunted it, my buddy sits in it once and shoots a nice 6 pointer out of it.

I do, but I have friends / family I stick in them

I try to hunt all the ones we put up. On 54 acre we have six stands, 4 ladder and two hang on platform. There are two other perm stands.

You just never know when they will come by and to the least likely stand.

I do it once in a while. If the wind is never right when I need a spot, it ain't happening.

I put up over 30 stands a year and have several i never hunt out of. Some my friends do , or guests, and some nobody ever sits in. not a big deal. I had friends shoot pope n young deer out of some of my stands and have heard that comment well you'll never let him hunt there again!!... I invite people down to shoot deer!! honestly i could care less if they shoot the next state record off my place i'm happy for them!!

i was very happy for him, i just put the stand up last minute and didn't like the placement so didn't sit in it.
