Sudzy8
I will be in my stand by 6:45am and will be getting out at 9:30am. It's waaaaaaaaay too early in the year to sit all day. Then I will be back in the tree by 4:00pm to sit for the evening.

Doc
Be in the stand around 6:30........Maybe earlier since I don't think I'll be able to sleep!!! By 7:00 you should be flapping at the end of your safety strap like a flag if you are hunting western NY....lol. By the way guys .... seriously ..... you should always wear a safety harness while up in the trees, but from the weather reports that I've been hearing, it really is especially important tomorrow with those high winds. Also, take a quick look up over your head to see what kinds of things might be dead or hanging around up there. I had a little wake-up call last year when I found my ground stand flattened by a huge dead maple within a day after I had been standing there. growalot
Good advise.....also seeing we all strap our selves to the tree...remember even a hard maple can have the top blow out of it when it looks perfectly healthy....happens on our place a lot...which is why I've started building raised blinds....be careful...Good Luck

biggamefish
It is never to early to spend all day in the woods. I love the waking Up of the woods but it seems in all the years of hunting I have shot 90 percent of My deer between 9 and 1. Even in early season it seems the deer are moveing then. fasteddie
You might want to also take some Dramamine along . The wind is forecasted to range from 20 - 27 mph tomorrow . I will sit as long as I can handle it . It sure would be nice to cash in opening day ! I havn't done that since 2008 .
33Canuck
Well if it's like it is right now....high winds and gusts ...rain....I'll be out at about 10pm....with the cell phone set for 5a.m. or....out at 5am and waiting till sunrise 5 AM? 2 hrs before daylight is a bit extreme but you could sleep in your "stand" from the looks of it
pawle76
Bow has been open for almost a month here and it's still a little warm for my liking. If it cools off here I will go out.
