Ticks and mosquitos??

Are they still out there. Im debating where to go hunting. In the 3 region or 4 region. During deer season in region 4 i have never seen ticks or misquitos. But I don't know about region 3. And we all would want it to be alot colder. Any ideas anyone?

I don't know about those regions but on long island their is less as it gets colder.

Good thing I had my turttle neck shirt on the other day when cutting wood when it was in the 50"s.When changing had one drop off of my shirt.Region 4.

I region 4 might not have alot but since region 3 mostly orange county its warmer will probably have more.

Ticks are probly still around and there suck when they get on you i have had 2 in my lifetime and they freak me right out when i see a bug inplanted into me!

scouting some land yesterday had a tick on me.Its still warm.They are still there.Part of being in the woods.If someone is scared of ticks then WII makes a big game hunter that people can do from their living room.

Had mosqitoes and flies around me the other day too.But what bothers me more is the carpenter ants that crawl down you shirt collar when in stand.Then trying to get it out of there without hardly moving and not freaking out not exactly knowing what it is.

ive had 4 on me this year so far.... i think they are in my stand, cause i dont walk thru alot of bush getting to my spot.

The only thing that worries me most is that sometimes you dont feel them on you. And some may carry lyme disease

Get some spray and apply to your clothes, you will be fine.

Im a magnett for ticks,for some reason even sprays dont work.Ican tell you this i have lymes and is not fun.There are alot of ticks where i hunt usually take multiple off every time i go out.

I hunt in region 4 and have not had any on me but that's not to say they aren't out there. Last December when I was processing and skinning my buck, there were a handful of them on him and it was 20 degrees out. Even if its cold, if they can find a warm body they will cling to you. I use Premethrin which you can get at Dicks and its ordorless.

Ticks are bad this year. (Speaking from PA) I have taken roughly 15 off of my clothing this year. I just kill them when I pick them off. (That little bastard won't climb on me anymore). Just check yourself real good when you get home. Best of luck to those taking to the woods this weekend.

It would make sense you couls get one all year long,what if your in a stand and a tick just happens to be in the tree your resting your back on.Looks like it's dinner time for that tick lol!!Like i said i have had 2 on me and one of them it was cold like 30 40 degrees!!

What ever you do make shure you get the whole tick out they can do some damage if the head is left behind i hear!!

Thanks guys...you have me itching head to toe!!...I'm allergic to DEET so my Therma cell is one important tool for me.....but it's the spiders....always find spiders even in winter on stand...crawling all over me and equipment...freak me out

Just found and removed a half engorged deer tick right at the base of my privates. Not sure how it got there. Last time I was in the woods was back on Monday. Maybe from the clothes? Had done laundry a couple of nights ago. Having girlfriend help me remove it. That's a first. Now she's all grossed out because we've bedded just the other night.

I had zero Ticks on me opening day (Saturday) but yesterday (Sunday) I picked a total of 6 off ! Saturday morning temps were 25 degrees and Sunday morning temps were 42 degrees ... sure made a difference !
