Finally getting out after squirrels again tomorrow. Looking forward to it. Hopefully they will be pretty active since it's been so mild outside. Taking the .22. I usually find a lot of late season squirrels near pines. Anybody else gonna get after them this winter?

Truck is packed. Heading to camp after work tonight. Weather looks good for the weekend. Hopefully the squirrels are out. With all the talk about AR lately, I hope they don't try to put some kind of Quality Squirrel Management (QSM) into place.

i have, just smaller than greys. easier to skin

Thanks, good to know. I eat the grays but don't shoot the reds, figured they weren't worth teh trouble.

not alot of meat but if they give me a shot i will take it. its just 2 of us so if i have red one i will freeze 1 red and 2 grey together

I kill every red I see, they are nasty. Always chasing the greys around. I read that they will kill baby greys, and can even castrate adults greys by biting them.

I eat reds all the time. They can have a slight pine odor because that's where they like to live and they chow on pine a lot, but they don't taste like it. They are smaller though.
