luberhill
So if you use two pryodex pellets , do you crush them with the bullet ?
Daveboone
The intention is not to crush them, just seat firmly on top of them just like you would powder. Loads I have removed with pellets usually show some crunching though...but that could partially be from pushing them out. mowin
No. Do not crush them. It's important to get the bullet on top of the charge without crushing the pellets, and without any space between the pellets and bullet.

mlammerhirt
I am not quite sure you can press down hard enough to crush the pellets.....you would really need to use alot of force when seating the bullet.Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
Farflung
When I unload my muzzleloader to clean and/or at the end of the season, the 2 Pyrodex pellets fall out after I remove the breechplug. They often have some small amount of "chipping" on the top of the pellets, but they are not crushed. And I seat them as firmly as I can.
