Cabin Fever
Sure feel bad for this one! Looks like it has an infection in it's lower leg, that has taken it's toll on the hindquarter. Possibly injured by a vehicle. Everytime I get pics of it, it's by itself...

Doc
I hate to see critters in that kind of shape. But next time some animal rights wacko starts giving you a hard time about blowing a deer flat, drag out that picture and show them some of the alternatives to hunting, and the way Mother Nature usually has wildlife meet their end. trophy taker
Hate seeing them suffer like that, but mother nature can be cruel. Coyotes will find her sooner or later.

ny hunter
You never know, she just might make it thru the cold months and you well see more of her in all year.
Doc
You never know, she just might make it thru the cold months and you well see more of her in all year. I don't know ..... I'm no vet, but I do know that that joint is a fairly complex part of the leg and by the looks of it, it will never function again. I have seen deer that got along just fine with a rear leg completely missing, but they didn't look that unhealthy. I kind of wonder if there isn't more wrong with that deer than just the obvious problem.
bubba
If you showed this pic to some anti-peta wacko, they would contend it was done by wounding it by a hunter, and the pic would be on the front cover of their most recent propaganda rag. Why give them ammo.
