swivel seat

I always say that you should hunt the way that makes your experience the best for you... i was just expressing my opinion as it pertains to me... hunting is about enjoying the experience and if that does it for you... then its a good thing.

I agree with you about hunting the way that works for the individual person and enjoying the hunting experience . I also believe that we have progressed to hunt smarter , not harder . I would think that your way would probably be more fulfilling for a younger guy with the satisfaction of sneaking up on deer . No doubt the deer would hear my bones snap , crackle and pop if I tried to hunt that way .

my way of hunting is not for everyone... I am just not a sit and wait kind of guy... I need the thrill of wondering what's around the next tree, bush, mountain... whatever... I get the whole treestand thing.. I did it for years... I found it to be less productive and quite boring... I will admit that someitmes I will climb up in a stand on a nice sunny day to relax and take in the scenery... but only for about a half hour or so... then I'm right back on the ground and on the move. Treestands definitely have their place.. but I'm sorry.. I will never grasp the need for a swivel seat or heat structure.. I'd rather stay hoome and watch television!!

My first stand the Silent Stalker from the '80's has a swivel seat and I still use it ! good stand never had to do a thing to it. Did not buy it for the "swilvel" but it is nice.

This year I'm going to hang it right on my shooting range, which is right along a ditch they walk . got corn growing there and my range is mowed which they like to walk.

I use to think like that...trekking the hills of Alfred in 3ft of snow...wind blowing and icicles hanging off your lashes and nose....then..I bought land where bullets are whizzing by and trees next to you are getting cut in half....yep took to the trees....as time went on my foolish youth has caught up with me...risking more injuries in rocky uneven 45 degree slopes...just is unacceptable ...you can only brake ...tear and dislocate body parts so many times before you cripple your self..

.Then you have the cold..older skin thins..... and when at the age of twelve you and your girl friend fall through the ice in Canseraga Creek while sledding ...then soaked have to walk a mile home in a white out....that old frost bite injury...They actually stood our clothes up to dry them out....equates to huge water blisters all over your lower torso and arms if you get too cold...not pleasant....So enclosed and even some heated blinds...keeps me out doing what I love and for me that's all that matters...I stopped trying to prove how tough I can be years ago...now I want to just plain enjoy...watching the critters and hopefully getting a clean kill shot even in late season....but most of my deer are taken early any was..Why I'm glad for the Oct 1 opener

I built something 20 years ago where I can recline in a soft chair, its heated for warmth on those cold days, have a frig not too far away in case I get hungry or thirsty, TV in case I get bored, I even have a stereo... oops sorry.. that is my livingroom.. nevermind.

Dorn., Big Game makes a tree strap on seat that swivels today. River Edge made one years back but dropped it. Grow, we use a portable canopys over stands like that. Keeps some of the rain and snow off. I still like being out in the elements. Just adds to my excitement more, I guess.
