Could it be a green heron? Sure looks similar to the bird that was showing up on my deck for about a week.

Nope , look at the legs and bill..

Again , I’ll bet it’s a sand hill crane baby ..check my pic above 

green and night herons have shorter legs and stout body

Sure is a ringer for the pic of the Yellow Crowned Night Heron...which I have never seen in the flesh.
